Should Cleric Stance be disabled in party instances?

I understand the use of cleric stance in solo content. Fine.

Now if cleric stance is disabled in PvE dungeons/raids (like in PvP), the issue of people complaining you are not dpsing enough will dissipate, possibly.

Yes you can still dps, but just not as much.

Right now, I feel like in cleric stance, I can dps more than the casual dps, which means I am fulfilling two roles, healer AND dps. Which is not the intention, I believe.

So should SE disable cleric stance in party instances?

This is only in the standpoint of game design, and not numbers, or completing instances faster etc.

Personally, i think content should scale with group ilvl. The real reason healers dps is that there's just never enough damage going out to heal, save for the hardest content. Dungeon runs will take a bit longer but healers will be healers this way.

No, because proper DPS is a vital part of healer tool kit in this game. Taking that part out would strip the jobs of one of their core functions.

I think CS is fine as it is at the moment.

Like you said you can pull more dps than an average dps, but CS is only successful used by good healers. Try and compare your dps from your healer dps rotation with the dps output from a similar skilled and geared dps. The problem is also most dps are below 70% of what they could do due to less skilled or adopted to the fight.
An other problem is the basicly overgeared player on new content. There is not really much damage to be healed in an average party, so more CS uptime.

The solution to the "should healers DPS or not?" Argument is absolutely NOT removing the option to reliably DPS entirely and thus forcing all healers, skilled or not skilled, to conform to the "healers don't DPS" mentality.

Healer DPS isn't a requirement. Regardless, you should be doing it whenever possible. If you don't feel comfortable in a given situation, then don't DPS. You're doing your team and yourself a favor by doing it, even if it isn't necessary to clear the fight.

Point and simple: If you keep your team alive and don't DPS, you're a good healer. If you keep your team alive and provide DPS, you're a better healer. End of story.

No without Cleric Stance I would be standing around doing nothing for half the fight. Although I don't think any healers should of needed Cleric Stance in the first place, as our damage should of come directly from our MND stat instead of INT.

Right now, I feel like in cleric stance, I can dps more than the casual dps, which means I am fulfilling two roles, healer AND dps. Which is not the intention, I believe.
Tank also fills two roles and can tank and dps if anything I would like all classes to be a bit more flexible with other roles.

No!!! Don't take away my cleric stance! That would make playing a healer so boring. I would have absolutely nothing to do between heals.

Why are so many of you on the forums so stuck on the idea of healers only healing and nothing else? That's fine if that's how you want to play, but a lot of us choose to use cleric stance because it makes the class more exciting.

If you are DPSing more than a casual DPS that's on them, not you.

Healer DPS is still significantly less than well geared good DPS especially for single target (aka the things that matter).

Stance Dancing is the only thing that makes healing remotely exiting because it actually has consequences if you mess up or your timing is wrong.
Take it away and I can just spam the heal button all day OR sit around watching the party do stuff (because the dmg output without CS is so abysmal that it is literally just a waste of mana).

That is an absolutely horrible idea.
