Thread: Keep Main Job or switch in 4.0?

Here is a question that will hit players once 4.0 is released.

Do you plan to keep your current Main Job what it is or switch to a different Job once 4.0 is released either being the new 4.0 Jobs or the new updated other Jobs we already have.

I personally will just keep playing Machinist because I just enjoy the gameplay it has. Far more mobile than Bard and I just like Technology and Gun theme Jobs.

if a sword dps class comes out i am switching. currently main a drk because it uses a cool sword

Depends on what Jobs we get with 4.0 and what they're like...

Because if there's no interesting new ones, I may just continue doing WAR and PLD on my chars.

If Samurai is announced and it's a dps I will be switching to it.

Well if Samurai is added everyone will switch to it all fate parties,raid parties and trial parties will all be samurai dps. No queues will ever pop because everyone will be sitting in dps que as samurai Idyllshire will have samurai as far as the eye can see,all future content wont be completed due to the lack of tanks and healers because Samurai. Adding in new classes wont matter because Samurai

I was pretty disappointed with the balancing issues that were prominent with the Heavensward jobs, as well as how homogenized they were with already-existing roles, so I'm not sure I'd bother to swap to a new one until it's pretty much proven that they're decently balanced and have their own unique niche/purpose/playstyle in a party. As AST slides farther down the "just like a WHM or SCH depending on whether you push the sun or moon button" sinkhole, I'm reminded of how unique I thought it looked upon reveal and how much I hoped I'd be able to contribute to my party by juggling constant card buffs to boost my party's DPS instead of constantly riding that Cleric Stance button.

Not making that mistake again.

Depends on what happens. What kind of changes the expansion will bring ect.
I am hoping for SAM though, tank or dps.

But if WAR is still amazing in 4.0, will probably stay.

If Red Mage and/or Dancer make it in (probably whichever is the healer IF both make it in 4.0), it's almost a no brainer for me. Switch ASAP, get it to the level I can finish MSQ on the job, and proceed to level with the story.
