Because as we've seen in real life, a gold-medal Olympic fencer is always the best at boxing as soon as they drop their sword put the gloves on. No need to practice, or anything!

I think the analogy is more apt when comparing a fencer trying to box with their foil. If the gold medal fencer is also an olympian boxer due to years of training (FFXIV equivalent of levelling-up), then yes, it is entirely feasible that by dropping a foil and picking up boxing gloves they will be quite formidable at boxing.

That is why if you make a macro with all your gear swaps but without waits, you will get many pieces that will not equip. To actually make a gear macro fully function you have to include /wait in-between each line.

To test if there is a /wait in-between each line try making a macro that is:
    /echo line1
    /echo line2

They will both go off instantly...
This seems to be true for any type of chat, but as far as ability use and gear swapping goes, there is a wait between them.

You can change your gear faster by spamming your macro instead of hitting it just once. And when changing to a class that cant be your current gear, it all gets removed at once. It has nothing to do with the game needing to draw each piece before equipping the next (keep i mind the game has to draw "no gear" as well).

Whatever is causing it, I hope they fix/remove it.

I just wanted to stop by in here to let you know that in 2.0 you will be able to save equipment sets for each class instead of having to create equipment changing macros.

And to add to MeowyWowie’s post, we are also looking into increasing the speed of executing macros. Thanks for your feedback in regards to this!

Equipment sets would be very nice.

2.0 is so long away, though...I hope it can be put in earlier than that.

Regarding the payment. It says on your objective that Final Fantasy 14 will be compatible for hardcore gamers and casual gamers. It is a bit unfair for casual gamers like myself to pay for a 30 days even though I am only playing half of the time (or less). Is it possible for your good office to maybe have an option for casual gamers to pay 30- gaming days, meaning whenever a player logs-in it is consider as 1 game day. Unlike the payment method that you've said before, the 30 days runs consecutively doesnt matter if you play or not.

In regards to swapping gear while in battle, since changing certain gear while in battle will change your class in FFXIV, we're not planning to make it possible to swap gear in battle. This direction will not change in the future.

We are focusing instead on making adjustments with the battle-related fixes to ensure that you can battle to your utmost ability without having to rely on changing gear multiple times mid-fight.
