Win 10 - Controller becomes randomly unresponsive

Within the last week, FF14 has been showing some odd behavior when I use controllers. My character will occasionally become unresponsive and continue doing whatever it was I was doing for two seconds before I regain control. Typically this is just moving, but a few times it was when I was navigating menus, or canceling out of menus.

I'm running Windows 10 on a Macbook Pro. I'm using an Xbox One Elite controller with a wireless adapter.

Things I have tried to fix it:

    Changing controllers
    Using a wired controller
Changing batteries in my wireless controller
Confirmed that this issue does not appear in other games
    Updated wireless adapter driver
    Updated controller driver
    Updated windows
    Updated Mac OS x

Some google searches have suggested that there might be a driver causing my device manager to "blink" which is making FF try to reconnect to the controller but none of the steps they provide to determine this have proven fruitful.

Can someone help? Doing anything besides low level grinding has become somewhat dangerous if I suddenly lose control of my character.

I have had all your troubles just the same. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled a few weeks ago and it fixed the problem but I have been trying to deal with this same issue once again. I have tried brand new controllers, new cords, checked all my drivers, updated and uninstalled everything. This is getting really annoying to deal with. I know a few other players having the same issues. I talked to a support agent today and he said if there were more people with the situation that they will try to do something on their end. I feel so crazy right now because This stuff is only happening to me. If anyone knows how to fix this problem I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

Unfortunately I don't have a solution but this has been happening to me too ever since I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 a few months ago... It's kind of a relief to know it isn't just me but I really hope something comes up.

There's been a few threads on the topic. Try this as it worked for me and others:

Today I went to get an xbox one controller to see if to was my controllers or usb drivers and it continued to do the same until i tried your option of fixing it. So far it has worked for me on my xbox one controller. I am going to see if the same works with my ps4 or anything controller I am able to use.

I want to know what i disabled and why did i have to do it this time to make my controller work fine on my FFXIV game.

So I've tried Jekyll's solution and it did not work for me. What I did find, however, was that if I turn off all other programs in the background except for FF14, the issue doesn't happen. In particular the issue appears to happen when the chat program Trillian is open in the background. I still suspect the issue is with FF14 and not Trillian, as I can use controllers with other games perfectly fine.

I have a similar issue, idk if its connected but i explained here (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...uttons-problem)... After several things i tried, i found something: The game itself dont support the new layout of my gamepad... So i assume ffxiv devs has to add this support on later updates... This in my case, because i haven't find any solution to my drama
