    Petition to keep non-instanced dungeons.

    Yosh-p has stated that he wants to make all dungeons instanced. That doesn't settle well with me. Considering I love the rank 20(15) open dungeon, I've stated my reasons in another thread a while back. He said that the open world content will be the strongholds(there's a few more, I know). I'm making this thread to keep and to make more open world dungeons. Please sign and like this thread if you want to see this happen. Please do not post saying "INSTANCED IS BEST" this is a thread for the people who want to keep and see more open world dungeons. Thank you.

    PS: I'm not saying to take out instanced dungeons, but to keep non instanced ones and keep making more, along side the instanced ones.


    Other thought for you instance lovers:
    -Make the dungeon open to everyone
    -Have to run through a tough area
    -area is level capped
    -Instanced NM(like Ifrit) still level capped!

    I think instanced is ok as long as it does not have party/level requirements. Otherwise, I agree, open is better please.

    I can see why he needs to make them all instanced, the cross server dungeon finder won't work otherwise and to be honest I don't think your petition is going to effect his decision.

    With zones becoming seperated they basically become instanced as well, do you have a problem with that I wonder ?

    They can still have that with the instanced dungeons. I just want them to keep and to make more non instanced dungeons.

    It's too early to tell what they are going to do even if Yoshida said "bla bla" is in development. SE has said "this and that" and then eventually went with "that and this" in the past.

    No, they need more instanced dungeons. This will help with camping/stealing bosses or training. Also it will allow more people to enjoy the game because people with lesser computers will be able to partake in content, instead of lagging in world instances because of the large concentration of parties in the area.

    I despise the thought of the game being mainly instances... horrible mechanics for a mmo considering the genre was designed to have a whole world instead of the dungeon crawler type gameplay.

    Unfortunately if they want to have dungeon finder... you have to instance the world or it simply will not work. That is the issue with the whole dungeon finder regressionary movement WoW started. Sacrifices community, guild unity, the feeling of being in a world for ease of gameplay for those who do not want to make/find a party.

    With Yoshida's mind made up already with the want a instanced style online game to make all the casuals happy... I feel the complaining about instancing everything is a waste of time though.

    Instancing some of the game = great.... instancing all of the game = stupid design and decision making by the devs.

    Agreed. One of the Worst things WoW has done is the dungeon finder. IT Ruined the community beyond belief. people say "well you dont have to use it" well guess what? it becomes the only way to do anything.
    And cross server dungeon finder at that? yea the community will be just like WoWs "dead" what makes it worse this game wont have 10 million ppl ............
    Hey guys lets log onto FFXIV and stand in one spot in the city and que for everythign we need to do we dont need to go anywhere but the city..... Good Job Yoshi your pretty game your unique zones you want? there not gonna mean shit once you implement a dungeon finder cross server. niether will those grand companies you speak of. cause once ppl find out its faster and easier to que for everything yea GAME OVER. unless your gonna do cross server grand companies? LMAO I was so optamistic about this game till I read cross server dungeon finder.

    So what about the people that dont wanna run dungeons all day? what about the people that love the competition of hunting NM, HNM's world bosses? what about the people who love going out with a group of friends to explore the world and kill mobs?
    If I wanted to do that I'd stick with WoW I mean why go to a game with same concept when theres a game already out that is the best at it?

    To the OP, I like having both, but over all I will favor instance over non instance.
    Now I would keep quiet about it, if it wasn't for the fact a thread that ONLY shows 1 opinion, and encourages only those who favor the idea to comment and thumbs up, makes it hard to see how many people are in favor of 1 or the other.

    For the DEVs, I would always allow both sides to comment, but would ask the opposing side to explain 'why' they feel the way they do.

    As for me, I like having the strongholds, for some, "just go in, do w/e" kinda action.
    But a more goal focused dungeon, with enemies and a boss(s) which can not be attacked by outside forces, are a bit more immersive, and it then feels like a challenge for me and my friends to over come. Rather than "We can't beat it, lets just throw more people at it."

    As for dungeons/strongholds that are not instanced, they feel like a waste of time, if there isn't a sort of "Campaign" system, like in FFXI, or something.

    Though I would like something a bit more in depth, and require going to more than just 1 spot in the whole area.
    (Give a reason to want more groups in the area.)

    For those in favor of instance content (but not against non instance dungeons. For wanting to do away with them entirely, I'd suggest a different post/thread.) thumb this post up.
    (Just to get a comparative number of those who favor non instance versus those who do not.)
