I'm getting the same problem here too, exact same numbers.

At first I was getting different error numbers that prevented me from even starting the game at all, but with Eldeniel's fix I was able to get to the point of at least trying to login, after which I got this exact error.

The problem seems to me that the updater/launcher itself isn't updating for some reason. It normally does that every time there is a patch or a fix.

Try that guys :

Go to "Settings" > "Network" > "Set Up Internet Connection"
Select Wifi/LAN as appropriate for your connection.
Select "Custom".
IP Address Settings = Automatic
DHCP Host Name = Do Not Specify
DNS Settings = Manual Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8 Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4
MTU Settings: Automatic
Proxy Server: Do Not Use

Reboot your PS4 after that and try to launch the game another time. Worked for me.

Eldeniels Tip worked for me. It seems that the problem was, that ff14 does not correctly update the login programm and therefore failing the version check.

Still having no luck, dns trick didn't work, checking port forwarding didn't fix it (if it was a port forwarding issue the game wouldn't have worked before the update anyway), have rebooted everything several times over, and I'm currently trying just spamming logging on until someone comes up with something better to try.

My current theory is that the ps4's update server is a little behind or a little overloaded with update requests, which is why the login works, but the version check doesn't.

EDIT: I am now online, after resetting everything back to the way they were before I started having problems. I think the problem wasn't my end at all, and it just took the system their end a little while to catch up with the process. Either that or I just got lucky with my connection attempt.
