Dual wield when?

When are we going to get a proper dual wielding job/class? ninjas don't count as they use daggers. im talking using dual hammers or axes or swords type of dual wield. my biggest reason for making a character in any syfy or fantasy mmo's are the ability to dual wield swords and just be that guy who either tanks with them or the dps who spins to win. I would love it if samurai dual wielded katanas but im pretty sure if it comes, they only use 2h katanas.

On a serious if you don't consider dual wielding daggers dual wielding(?) Then we already have Monk. :^)

Nonono, Ninja doesn't count because it doesn't dual wield... It has one weapon and it auto-attacks once... Dual wielding would involve equipping two weapons (like Paladin), allowing for more variety in weapon glamour (like new Thancred, who wields two distinctly different weapons) and actually hitting more due to the extra weapon...

Ninja actually rarely uses daggers... Most of its weapons are short swords these days...

Shield charge into battle, shield bash to stun, Edge Slice (slicing the target with a serrated edge on the shield), Edge Smash, Elemental Counterattack bursts on block (inflicts Debuffs too!), bouncing shield throw for AoE attack. Shield Phalanx defensive skill that protects allies behind you from directional AoE damage, Entrench to become immune to knockbacks and gain massive defensive benefits at the cost of inability to relocate, mirror shield to reflect spell damage back onto the enemy. LB3 is Tortoise Formation - Summons a detachment of Spectral Guardians to create a barrier field that renders those inside it impervious to damage for a short time

You can take a Dual Shield class and come up with interesting things as a Tank.

Never. There is no such thing as "proper" dual wielding. If you look historically - back when they actually used swords, axes, etc. to fight - nobody ever[*] used two weapons at once. When possible weapon+shield or (rarely) a 2h-weapon was much preferred.


[*] There is actually one well-known exception. The use of rapier+dagger was not uncommon during the renaissance, but that is just about the only historically documented occurence of using two weapons at once.
