Ishgardian Family Trees

Out of curiosity, has anyone been able to create a nice table/chart/something to show how various Ishgardian characters are related to each other? I mean, I only just now figured out that Stephanivien and Francel must be brothers, but it's never ever pointed out explicitly, so sometimes it gets super-confusing. Which characters belong to which House?

Can't really help you, but I'm betting just because a person belongs to a High House doesn't necessarily mean that they are actual family members. A person belonging to a house might only be in service to that house.

This was asked in the Localisation sub-forum last October, and it received an official reply.

To clarify the intent of the line I wrote, Francel is reflecting on his status as the fourth-born son, as daughters are often excluded from the line of succession in Ishgardian houses (there are exceptions, of course).

The birth order of Count Baurendouin de Haillenarte's children is as follows:

Stephanivien - firstborn son
Chlodebaimt - third-born son
Laniaitte - firstborn daughter
Francel - fourth-born son

I realize this may beg an obvious question, but before you think to ask─no, I can't tell you anything about the second-born son at this time. Terribly sorry about that.

Also, the good folk at another forum had compiled a short list of the currently known Ishgardian noble families that are not part of the four High Houses (Durendaire, Dzemael, Fortemps, and Haillenarte). Hope that helps!
