Why is PVP Materia even a thing?

Wasted Wolf Seals to purchase two sleep resistance materias just to acknowledge the little message at the begginning of the Feast run saying "All Materia Bonuses are ignored."

What? Just Why? I get if you synch just the STR, DEX, VIT, MND, and INT stats but why the status effect materias?! Why do they still exist!

They are useless atm. They got introduce when pvp first came out(the Fold). They remove the ability the use potion, food and they synch gear now, so that new player would be able to access pvp way easier. Back then people were farming lvl 30,40 pvp to get enough gear to queue into the lvl 50 version of it and then you had to meld gear with horrible chance.

Good question. I got about 1000 of them though, and hope I can get a refund somehow because the situation is looking grim.
