    The Feast PvP Player Interviews!

    Hello guys.

Once again I would like to bring a little something to the table for all of us to enjoy. But for it to be enjoyed to it’s full potential, I’m going to need as much support as I can get. Before I start I’d like to say, my motives are purely out of enjoyment through helping and supporting our scene for it to grow. Getting more people involved such as the PVE players and non FFXIV players, interested in FFXIV PVP.

(Please don’t take any of this too serious, it’s really just for fun and to bring a bit more flavour into our small pvp community).

The main idea is to interview some of our most dominant PVP players, get inside their heads and find out what makes them so much better than your “average joe”. Then post the transcript here on the forums for all to see. How I choose people to interview will vary, in hopes of getting a healthy selection without being too biased from personal experience. I will choose by…

    • Known names here on the forums and in-game feast instances.
    • Players by popular demand.
    • Players who stand out to me.
    • People who seem to rank up the fastest and are consistently high.

Some of my hopes of what this can achieve:

    • Increase the amount of players who PVP.
    • Provide more traffic here in the PVP forums.
    • Provide more insight on in-game mechanics, tactics and strategies.
    • Give players exposure to help with their streaming goals.
    • Bring the PVP community a little closer across servers.
    • Give Square Enix more of a reason to put more time into PVP content. (They are doing an amazing job I have to say).

Interviewing players will also bring up a variety of opinions on many aspects about Feast, which we can then further discuss if desired here on the forums. All things aside they should provide nice insightful reads, especially if you’re new to PVP.

Already I have seen the small effort I have put in, has helped players who stream. For example not only did exposure here bring more viewers to Jammy To, he was also willing to host yet another random picked person when he was finished. Why don’t we all do this for each other when we can? Become a family and help each other out. : )

First person on my list Jammy To From Gilgamesh.

This interview will be Live on his Twitch channel …. I’m still preparing so a date and time has not been decided. A mini transcript highlighting parts of the interview will be posted here on the forums for all to see. I’d really love for as much of you to tune in and watch. Every bit of support will help. I’ve never done anything like this and I’m doing this for all of us, so it should be fun. Any feedback/suggestions are very welcome.

    Regards & Happy Feasting,

    Etro’s Soul.

PS. I plan to ask Renault, Straigus, Ethri’a, Frederic Chopin and much more to be interviewed if they have the time… So stay tuned. Things are about to get tasty… you could be next!

TL;DR. Interview with Jammy To and others coming soon!

    EDIT : Wednesday 13 April 2016
    Short Video 5-mins
    Long Video 15-Mins

    Summary:
It’s just an audio of me talking about why and how I came up with the idea. The exact same thing I have been saying here really. Only difference is how I say it. I hope this does help in some way. If not.. oh well we all live and learn ey?

I have made two threads about Twitch streamers. And there will be more!

The reason because i think streaming is cool. I watch streams all the time and love it. Multiple games not just FFXIV. But right now I'm into FFXIV and only PVP. So why not try and help some of these players if I enjoy what they are doing? I'm willing to put my own time into it so it shouldn't be doing anyone any harm.

Yes practice makes perfect but also experienced people can help others progress faster. Just like any sport or art. You by a book on it and every page does not just read "Keep practicing and you'll get there" or just filled with a bunch of "common tips". I think they are amazing players for a reason and I wouldn't mind finding out why.

Actually if people turn up to watch the interview, it will get some people interested. Even if it was just one person, it's something and you don't have to care but I would like to see more people in PVP. The more people I can get to turn up the more chance other people might randomly say "Hey whats going on over here?".

Now obviously you don't know me but I am the guy that will go out of my way to help a random person. I'm the only guy that said "Hey Chesty don't worry it's not your fault Sch is really hard to play in PVP" When he actually was trying. (but now it seems he's just out to troll). If all my post's will always be something positive and/or something that attempts to bring the community closer. I originally came on these forums to look for tips and tricks to help my game. But 90% of what i found was arguments and people telling each other they was wrong. Now I can't change that. But i can do something that I feel will help us move in the right direction.

Why do I think interviewing is a great idea? Because I cannot get Jammy To, Tea Pan, Straigus or any other highly experienced player to come on here and post a bunch of helpful information for us all. BUT! I can however use this as a way to get the same information to us. At the cost of me setting it up then typing it all out for all of us to read.

You might not care and you're probably an amazing player yourself. But their are a lot more lurkers here looking for advice than you think and I plan to provide try and provide it. (I'm not sure if I explained myself well but i'm kinda rushing here... I'm hungry.)

I haven't posted my stream but thanks for your contribution.

Pretty cool idea Etro adds some nice diversity too the PvP forums instead of the usual " Please nerf x class SE" threads I see or complaining in general. Looking forward to it!!

And players of Rum Raisin FC and the rest of Aether PvP group, the guys that are actually trying to help FFXIV PvP (joeneverfails) and continuously providing feedback to Square, theory crafting, minmaxing and all the other stuff isn't the best?

    Damn.

But that is what i mean, it requires personal investment and muscle memory, that's it.
Being good in reactive, competitive gameplay requires you also to invest time - into your life. E-Sports is the word, like any other "Sports" it requires a healthy lifestyle to have your body and mind in good shape and outperform others. Also it requires the same or even a higher level of communication skills with your team.

Let them get viewers, that's just a part of community building, it doesn't seem wrong to me. FFXIV has a lot potential, also for pvp content, you are blind if you can't see that. But the community needs to show interest in it, so the producer will find it worthwhile to invest into that.

I'd only stream for the mere reason of others asking me to watch to maybe improve or tell me what I could do better.

I'm playing with Etro since Feast began, and I see him putting lot of efforts to increase the FFXIV pvp community bigger with a good spirit. I don't understand why some people are coming so judgy or giving him bad intentions.
    Peace on Eorza !

See I think the big difference for me is in MogTalk's discussion it's not really focused on either player but on pvp and the feast in general. In truth, I loved the MogTalk episode but it wasn't like I went there for Joe or anything. That's what bugs me about OP's idea; it seems more focused on those particular players than on the game mode. That's the impression I get when talking about an "interview".

And that's why I'm not really interested. I'm not interested in getting to know these people. As ironic as it may sound, I don't want to hear an interview of someone I don't already know and love. Part of me thinks that maybe the OP is just framing the idea in a weird way, but I'm not too sure.

My issues is that aside from a couple, it reads like a "Who's Who of Balmung"...

The ones listed are good, and I respect them... But diversify, please!
