Does anyone know why the official translation thread did not mention a single thing about this?

Because it wasn't part of the Q&A, just something they teased afaik. We also got very little information about it, so it's possible they're saving the translation for the next live letter.
They usually release a digest that talks about all the stuff that isn't in the Q&A, but it often takes them awhile to get it up.

Hello Zeno_McDohl,
Nice catch!
During the stream, Yoshida showed off an image (the one you pointed out) of a new dungeon-like content which is currently planned for release in Patch 3.3. It's being referred to internally as the Treasure Hunter dungeon.
Uncovering treasure maps, such as a timeworn dragonskin map, may sometimes reveal an entrance to the dungeon instead of the usual treasure chest. Once revealed, players have the option to challenge it or not, and by entering, players would need to clear out the monsters within this dungeon in order to unlock chests. The difficulty isn't set too high and they can be cleared without any practice. The image shown was just an example of the final room players can reach, which is filled with treasures. Players would need to do something to levers located in the rooms; however, the full details will be shrouded in mystery for now!

Oh I think they should add variety of more difficulty to this, also make it free company content focus as well. If these are treasure dungeons I would welcome random chance of a boss fight might start here to hope for this feature...
Please make this have some sort of random/branching aspect to it square!
I'm hoping it's at least as interactive or rewarding as WoW's version, back during Mists lol. That was interesting while it lasted, as it utilized jump mechanics and player attention/cleverness if you wanted to have a good chance at the best yield in the short time limit you had. Along with being able to output a decent amount of DPS, should you have made it to the boss at the end of the solo run. Even if not, you'd still walk away with something (like a nice amount of currency), as chests were abundant throughout the whole instance.

Very cool and unexpected feature, looking forward to seeing it.
A true paladin... will sheathe his sword.
I loved the Throne of Thunder treasure dungeon! I don't think I actually ever got the end chest even although I do remember getting close at least once. It was a lot of fun and I really hope it has some similarities to that!I'm hoping it's at least as interactive or rewarding as WoW's version, back during Mists lol. If I recall right, you had to really haul ass and ignore pretty much everything if you wanted to get to the boss to kill it before the time limit was up. I think I only attempted that like once... and the boss wasn't really a push over at the time. Don't remember if I beat it though.
