    Materia Stat Caps

I was rereading this http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...l=1#post341227 and noticed that HP materia would cap out at 28 per materia and have an overall cap of 280.

Since 1.19 has been out, we know very well that 28 isn't the cap, but I'm curious whether the 280 HP cap is still in place and if so, do all the other materia stats have caps?

Is there a way we can get confirmation on this and/or a list of what each stat caps out on from materia? Reason being, I would like to spam some gear+materia trying to socket as high as I can, but I might not want to waste all those resources only to find out that MP caps at something stupid like 100.

I would also like clarification of limitations of materia. The translation I found didn't state if the cap is per piece or total for all gear.

    I think that too.

If the posted example is based on ratios, then it sounds like ten maxed tier IVs would lead to the materia cap at least for HP.

Since many materia seem to be limited to one or two equipment slots and it's difficult to get more than two materia at this time, I don't think we'll know what these caps are going to be.

I once attempted to socket a 3rd T4 materia and got the following message:

"You dont have the slightest chance of affixing that materia"

So maybe that would effectively be your cap? The second T4 had a chance of something like 16.5%, and as I said I was never even given the opportunity to try a 3rd.

If I remember correctly they were two HP+45s and a third HP+40

Is that a cap on the # of T4 materias you can socket or a cap on the total HP you can socket though?

If the former, that is certainly an interesting result.

From my experimentation, I would assume its a cap on the stat bonus, in this case total hp.

If two HP+60s are melded, they would have a chance of somewhere near 16.5%

If two HP+40s are melded, they would have a chance of somewhere near 25%.

It doesnt affect your percentage if they are a high T3 or a low T4, its the bonus to stats that computes the chance of success.

Thanks for the info, Ross Daddy. I assumed that the success in the 2nd round was based on the tier number, but hadn't played around with it enough to learn otherwise. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

I care a lot about this topic. It would seem that my shinny new pants didn't help my cures at all. MND cap seems to be somewhere between 51-66. Anyone have any insight and the various caps and how large they may be?
