A source of tier V? question mark

Went to check out the accessories to see if the datamine matched up, and saw this...



I don't really know how reliable spiritbonding sky pirate stuff is, but only being able to get 1/2 of these pieces per week may not be very useful. I just noticed that none of the other 180 items can be converted to materia and 170 items very rarely yield tier V. Is this also useless and unreliable or potentially a way to dump red craft tokens for a chance at tier V?

My stats are good enough that I don't need to bother with tier V...for now. Look forward to any feedback/testing people can offer.

I logged in just to post how absolutely furious I am at this.
So firstly, it's DoH only, right? OK, I'll just quicksynth some stuff around 56-59, that'll get it up at least fairly quickly, it's all worth it for the chance of a V, right?

Anything 56-59 doesn't even bind it.
OK, sure, so maybe it'll take a bit more effort? I crafted 2 Stuffed Chysahl (Level 60), and it didn't even bind. Let me re-iterate: it did not even bind.
Why did you even bother making these convertible? My gear is more than enough for 3*, what do you expect me to craft to bind these? What was the point?
I just wasted 6 red scrip tokens on this, and I'm not even able to SB them in dungeons or whatever. Not like that's even possible any more either. I'm so done with this V materia grind.

Did you try binding it using those new cheap 2 stars synths? There's one for each masterbook 4, like :

All cheap to make, and all useless. Can't be spiritbound, as not equipable. Not crafting material, and not desynthable either. I can't see an other reason for them to be around than providing spriritbinding.
The materials are 1 star to gatherers, so good way to bind stuff too.

If so, this is still 30k per fish on my server, since I didn't level my FSH yet. Guess I should probably work on that, but if that's the case I hope it isn't a ridiculous amount of crafts still.

Edit: Tried it, it binds, but I'll wait to see how many it takes once I have easy access to the fish.

currently Spiritbonding a full set now (30 red scrips) to see what kind of of conversion rate i get.
using just 2 rings would be cheaper, however making a ton of items using 7+7 (14 crystals) is just not worth it for 2 items. need to make a full set to be worth while.

EDIT: SB full right side+waist (30 Red crafting tokens)
2/6 T5 (control 7 and craft 11)
Main gil cost was wind 7 fire 7 (only bought wind cuz i was too lazy to farm it.

Quick Synth Sewing needle with SB buff II and SB potion (made 330 needles) for 100% SB (needles use 3x Beastkin Horn, was cheap on MB 50 gil up to 1k)

I am spiritbonding a full set right now. I'll edit this post with results. Remember to repair between quick-synth rounds, a 99-item QS knocks the durability down to well under half.

I like the Aurum Regis Planisphere for getting the Type-1 Crafting Receipt - no timed node mats.

Emerald Soup to hit the Craftsmanship requirement (easily). I'm failing about 10% of the QS. I am not sure if that affects SB speed. After a stack and a half of QS and using a Spiritbond Potion the items are at 40%. ... time passes ...

So here I am, with 298 High Mythrite Nuggets, 29 Griffin Leather Straps, 11 Camphorwood Lumbers, and 6 100%SB'd L180 Accessories. Time to Convert!

Necklace: Craftsman's Competence IV
Earings: Craftsman's Cunning IV
Bracelet: Craftsman's Cunning IV
Belt: Craftsman's Competence IV
Ring 1: Craftsman's Competence IV
Ring 2: Craftsman's Cunning IV

Not a bad haul for the amount of time spent (not counting the time getting the red scrip), but no luck on grade V.
