[dev1019] Auction House with search & tracking funtionality similar to FFXIAH.com

Hello I just wanted to make a suggestion if possible if square could add functionality similar to this fansite on the lodestone or in game.

I find it would make selling and buying much easier to judge a fair price on items I wish to sell and to figure what I should make or gather at the time when I want to make some money.

For example, let's say I wanted to sell fish in Gridania or Limsa in the Market Wards. Often the items I want to sell have none listed on sell and I would either have to visit Uldah to check prices (if there's even any on the wards) or completely just guess the price.

You can have the search similarly designed where you could browse the fish market and scroll down the sale-able items with their average sell price next to them, the amount of stock on sell (to prevent overcrowding the market), and the transaction rate of the items. Adding the ability to track your retainers current stock in their bazaar.

Here's a example picture of what I mean.

I believe Matthew Scragg is the one who designed the search design for the site and he and his team should be credited for the idea if you ever decide to implement this for the lodestone or even better in-game.

Hmmm, I'm not so sure, but I'm looking at it from a crafter's PoV. The more accessible a history is the more price wars go on. Eventually it gets to the point where it is all but impossible to make income from crafting. FFXI had this problem and I believe the AH history and even FFXIAH itself was a major factor in it.

I realize it is a delicate balance. However, crafting is my favorite part of FFXIV. If it got to the point where it was near impossible to make a decent profit doing so, like XI did (at least compared to other forms of income such as farming), I probably would lose all interest in the game.

Also "sale" and "sell" are two different words. You might want to learn when to use them correctly.

I think we need at least the AH history and average median price, It will help newer players understand the market, but I do understand your worry.

You come from a very very different FFXI than I did, FFXIAH was awesome for my Smithing, Cooking and Fishing.

makes you think if the community representatives even look in here besides the general discussion.

In patch 1.20 they're adding buying from the search screen and a previous 20 price history, so it will be similar to FFXI's AH system.

It would probably be possible to make an Addon similar to FFXIV Pro in the 2.0
