    More rank 20 dungeon please!

    The rank 20 dungeon is the best one out the 3 so far. It has 5 different levels(wish those levels would increase in mob difficulty). There's more to do in that dungeon than the rank 50 one. When ever I did the rank 50 dungeon you would just run through it, quickly open the chests, kill the two bosses. There is nothing to that dungeon, I think its because of it being instanced.

    list of what I like about the rank 20 and 50 dungeon

    Rank 20 dungeon:
    -Has more to it
    -Meet new people(party up with strangers)
    -NMs that you have to do certain things to make em pop(from what I understand)
    -Chests that have random drops(HAVE TO BE OPEN BY KEYS)<---big thing for me.
    -Different level of chests(rare keys to common)
    -Multiple floors
    -Not instanced
    -Fun and thrill of the hunt(claiming the nm)
    Rank 50 Dungeon:
    -hard NMs
    -chest(don't require keys)<---is a bad thing, makes it where you can run through it an not enjoy the dungeon at all.

    The level 20 dungeon is a great addition. I hope they continue to add more open-world dungeons like this - instances have their place, but so do places like Shposhae.

    I am in total agreement her even though I am no longer in the range to actualy do it all

    huge "dungeon" like areas that arent instanced are always nice and I wish more games would do them

    Well what they could do, is make a BCNM type deal. I really liked those. Rare drops, hard, normally had to go through a "dungeon" or area of some sort to get to em.

    The issue with the instanced dungeons is not that they are instanced, it's that they are on a time limit. They could easily make instanced versions of the level 20 dungeon with no time limit, as well as other dungeons along the same lines. The 1 hour time limit in the instances causes people to be stressed out about finishing fast enough and thus rush through everything. Remove that limit and dungeons could be however large you wanted, as well as instanced.

    What good would a big dungeon like that be if it was instanced. It would be dull to not see anyone around, dieing, killing other mobs, leveling up. It would be really boring if it were instanced. Its probably the most unique area in the game right now(to me).

    Instanced doesn't mean it has to be completely alone, if they could program an instance of a given dungeon to allow x amount of people total, say around 10 or 15, then you could have that sense of liveliness as well as prevent it from being overcrowded.

    Instanced and timers are two separate features; even if the timers were removed from the current instanced dungeons, it's still nice to have open places like this that aren't instanced cause they provide a different feel and experience from instanced dungeons that are closed off from the rest of the world.

    I don't wanna turn this one into a instance vs non instance thread. Its kinda hard to because I'm talking about an instanced dungeon vs a non instanced one. But having instances breaks away from the world. You are no longer part of Eorzea. Your part of this 8 man small world. Claiming NMs(winning or losing) is fun. If it gets your heart beating, its a good thing, that means your excited.

    I agree with the OP I actually went on a little tour of the baby dungeon and really felt like I was back in 11. NM's , Exp Camps, Coffers/Keys and even a boss like NM. I like the instanced raids Toto/Darkhold and I like the open world content. So yeah build them up both. In SE's defense though, the Strongholds are pretty good stuff albeit a little small but from the first gate to the boss nm there is plenty of action and loot.
