[GM] Please take notice. Make statement on housing.

I'd like to take some time out from crafting and grinding the new relic to settle the great debate lately of whether buying/selling housing/FCs is against the Terms of Service. I have heard mixed things about it and would like an official statement from a GM. Screenshots and tells are easily manipulated as we can see in this thread: Here

I received this message from Support in game. I believe it's proof enough, but others will need a bit more convincing. If a GM would please, make a statement it would be greatly appreciated. With the ongoing war of housing demolition, people are buying houses cheap and then selling them for insane amounts. This is becoming a HUGE problem on every server. Please, there needs to be a clear statement for all to see.

Just don't buy from anyone reselling. Wait until the new wards go in in 3.3 or the mansion or Ishgard wards later.

But that doesn't exactly solve the whole "Can I sell my house for gil" debate for some. People literally want a GM to say, "No you cannot sell your house for gil in-game".. Which is why I have posted on the forums in hopes that maybe some clarity will help those who are confused even though there are screenshots of proof floating around. Some were faked, some were not.

That's not what is being discussed here. Like me, there are other who want to know with 100% certainty that buying and selling land and FCs is against the TOS.

If it's against ToS, it seems counterintuitive to me. Housing should be just like other in-game commodity and able to be sold/traded for in-game currency or items. If run-selling is legal, why wouldn't selling housing be?

Btw, I don't have any stake in this. I didn't buy my housing from another player nor do I plan on selling what I do have. My FC has a mansion and I have a small personal house. If I DID sell a house, it would be my small house so I could upgrade to a better house. It seems really weird if that would be against the game's rules.

That being said, I understand people's outrage. A lot of players can't get housing at all and some players are making a fortune flipping houses. I personally don't have a problem with it because I think it's just like playing any other kind of market. Once housing is added in Ishgard and increased elsewhere, demand should go down, and the people trying to flip houses will be stuck with them or take a loss. This risk seems fair. The important point is that, as always, players have options: buy now and pay whatever crazy price someone is asking or be patient and wait for more housing. This is the same option that consumers have for virtually any product by the way.

Lastly, the main reason I care about my personal house is to have increased gardening options. If SE adds a feature to allow players to garden without a house, a lot of us might give up our houses to players who want them for other reasons.

I have multiple houses. Between FC, shared, and personal. I just want people to see that it is indeed against the TOS. People are literally in denial about it. No, they do not have an aggressive stance on it. No, it doesn't seem like they will ever have that kind of stance. But I was trying to be informative, instead people are bashing me. I guess my good intentions weren't good enough.

I believe this. While its against the TOS, it feels like they don't really care that players are being scammed out of 60 million gil or that people are flipping houses for upwards of 1000% profit. Its just a shame.
