"How would people feel if the teleport ability was taken away once chocobos and airships were opened up?"
I would hate you all very, very much
I don't like the teleport ability. It removes the incentive to explore Eorzea. When they add chocobos and airships I want them to remove the current teleport system. They could also make Eorzea a bit more beautiful to look at, just a suggestion. The world is really plain.
No to removal of but I'm okay with increased anima cost like when the game first came out. With Chocobo's and Airships I won't have to be so relenant on teleport to get around.
I would not mind. I like walking everywhere anyways.
IMO, kill two birds with one stone.
People want a more prominent death penalty. Make players lose anima on death. Gives people a reason to not die, counter-balances the effectiveness of "blood ports", and makes teleporting a much more coveted system. Perhaps tweak the regeneration rates / maximum amount stored down a bit as well.
Players will be more inclined to use Chocobos and Airships to save their anima for emergency ports.
I think the main reason people don't explore is that there is very little reason to explore at the minute. I have done some exploring and there are some great things out there but you can't interact with any thing out there so it is all a bit pointless unless you do it to admire the view.I don't like the teleport ability. I found a town/settlement hidden in a cave south of Drybone on the way to Broken Water full of NPC's which while you could talk to them, they didn't say anything of great importance or have any type of quest. If you go further into the cave there is a big wooden door that is locked too. But there are lots of things like this and landmarks that people can find but they all serve no purpose at the minute because we are locked out of their content.
I think a better way to get people to explore would be to block out the map for places you have not been. That way you would have to go everywhere to unlock the whole map. Giving you the map in full as it is does eliminate a lot of the reason to explore an area further.
You guys need to watch more traveling Jake.
Phew, that explains it. I'll stop trying to figure out how to level WHM so I can not take a huge step backward in limited-enough-as-it-is transportation modes.
