Quick question how did yall describe the situation? Were you clear and detailed?

Have you talked to the leader and asked to be kicked? If your kicked ur fc room gets auto demolished and any returnable furniture is returned.

They really should remove that option, seeing how it can be abused. Does the leader know must furnature that is expensive is a 1 time use?

I'm cross posting this here because I had tested this early on when Private Chambers were added and just re-verified it works.

However, even though the rank denies you Estate Hall access, if you already have a Private Chamber you can enter and leave the Estate as you please. And again, despite having absolutely 0 permissions on the rank (everything denied) I'm able to move my furniture within my Private Room (including putting it in my bag) as I please despite having the rank in question.

As horrible as what she did was, she didn't do anything she wasn't allowed to do. So the issue here isn't what the GMs could have done (because it wasn't much, if anything), but rather, that this needs to be fixed so it cannot become an issue again in the future.

The whole situation stinks though, but hopefully now that it's a known issue, we can get it resolved.
Actually GM are moderators, and can do something if people describe what is going on well enough. And this is infact clearly harrassment and can call under disruption of gameplay as your preventing players from leaving a FC.

The FC leader in question knew the furniture was "bound" and demanded replacements and/or gil, from my understanding.

The leader refused to kick anyone else until she got gil or items she wanted. She basically just locked the house, and prevented anyone from being able to quit.

GMs probably didn't think anything was wrong, since it's something seemingly not working as intended. I don't know how things were described, I wasn't personally involved in this. They did get multiple reports in and the GMs kept giving canned replies.

And despite being the game's moderators, I am pretty sure the GMs do not have any tools that let them force a GM out of power, or to force the guild leader to unlock the house, since technically that's something within a guild leader's power to do. They only have so much room to do things and usually a script they need to adhere to to an extent.

The short version of all this drama that unfolded is: We think it'd be better if players could just vacate from their lawn as a menu option, to circumvent a situation like this one happening in the future.

No idea why it works for one player but not several others. I will try testing it out later tonight when I have access to the game again, because now I'm curious if it's a server issue or something strange.

I actually had the rank with 0 privileges bestowed on me to test after reading this thread and have switched zones, relogged, restarted the game and everything but have 0 problems accessing the "Vacate chambers" menu nor have I been denied entry to the Estate or Chambers.

Some screenshots showed that they had attempted to vacate the rooms (demolish) but they couldn't because of the furnishings. They could see that menu just fine but they kept getting errors. I would ask my friend to let me test later today but they had several people saying they couldn't enter the estate.

After seeing this I did a test with my FC leader. You have to give someone 0 privileges AND close the house from guests. So no Estate Access and no Guest Estate Access. After that FC members will still see the glowing dot for the estate to enter, but when they try to enter, the game will prevent them from entering.

Okay, just tested this part now and it's right. Thanks. This was the crucial missing piece; the way it was being described didn't make sense to me-- but this does.

Again, I wasn't trying to say it wasn't true or that those affected were "too dumb to even try" but an attempt to figure out when/where the problem is.
