Well considering they had to scrap a lot the initial ideas they had for MCH (like the attachments and ammo), they'd have to double time it to salvage whatever aesthetics they can. Still kind of a cop out excuse though imo since they opted out with using the same GB model and lunchbox model for every, single, gun.
Even with the animations, it suffers a bit of the same problem as BRD since a lot of them clip onto each other and never really finishes. The animation for Gauss Round is actually pretty nice when you notice the spark effects from your lunch box, but both the impact animation and the spark don't play (or gets cut off abruptly) with an instant cast or another oGCD. Same with pretty much any other ability that isn't ricochet, even the sound cuts off for something like Misery's End/Heartbreaker if you use another skill and cancel it's full animation.
