useless scholars

why are 90% of scholars in this game adamant on not wanting to dps? Its what your role does so do it. I main scholar n a fair amount of trust can be placed on eos/selene when it comes to general healing (tank busters and such obv not included) so why when I am tanking for example do I repeatedly see scholars thinking 'hey, that drk just used unmend n is running up to next mob, I think ill have eos use whispering dawn n then swiftcast stoneskin on him just so he's safe'. No, just no. Just because your pet is on obey doesn't mean your doing things well. On top of this when the mobs are nearly down n I'm at 70-80% hp you don't need to use lustrate ill sort myself out from there. Stick to whm if ya don't wanna dps n find a new game if ya cba or too ignorant to learn how things should be done

Unless you're doing cutting edge content in which the party is under geared and healer DPS is required to overcome some enrage timer that causes everyone to die, then a healer is at no obligation to assist with DPS. Not everyone is comfortable with stance-dancing and not everyone has the network connection to handle it.

Also, WHM and AST are expected to DPS as well in cutting edge content, so your whole "Stick to whm if ya don't wanna dps" argument is invalid.

If you don't like this, I suggest you find a different MMO to play.

I cant understand how heals dont feel utterly useless, if they only heal

sometimes the tank has full HP and they just do nothing for like 30 sec, use 1 heal and afk for another 30 sec

I would feel like trash, lol

If a tank were to gain hate, then stop attacking till they needed to regain it wouldn't you view them as being lazy? It's the same with healers who just top off the tank and stand there doing nothing.

This so much. Stance dancing is what makes healing fun in this game for me, I've never played a game where people think it's okay to stand there doing nothing. You should always be doing something to benefit your group-this goes for every team-based game out there.

I get new players are learning n that but your not new to a role in ilvl 170 gear imo. I see it mentioned here about how can you not feel useless just healing every 30 secs. When I was learning scholar I was told in literally every dungeon I was expected to dps n that led to a few deaths on the way, I'm talking about the ones who don't even try. N then what's your answer to the HoT/SS at 1st sign of a pull, who argue that there proficient when you say 'hey when you use regen n shield straight away you generate lodes of hate, you'll end up getting killed ^^' I thought I was been helpful, so sorry. Haha. Btw i didn't mean to offend white mages

As a whm I almost never have time to DPS in those dungeons because the tanks are all mouthbreathing idiots.

Yeah there are alot of tanks that don't use cds, then its not the healer fault I agree

Well there's the paper tanks that still use CDs that are hard to heal and then there is the tanks that use CD but still prefer eating every single AOE known to man. ._. guys guys, my cures are 2.4 seconds long, and you're taking more damage than I can heal.

Holy Moly the salt in the OP.

Cutting edge content requires SCH to dps. I DPS there on SCH. In dungeons i stay in clerics 90%+ and DPS. I do this because i have the skill and can. It is NOT a requirement. Also i get bored when not doing anything, so DPS on SCH is fun like that.

SCH is a healer. If they go above and beyond that and dps then yippee. If not, be glad they are good enough to keep you alive.
