    "FFXIV has stopped working"

    Basic info:
Win 10 Pro 64 bit, updated to Sep 9 2015.
Nvidia GeFort GTX 780, using driver 355.60.
FFXIV, updated to Sep 8 2015 hotfix using DX11.

Up until the Sep 8 2015, had absolutely no problems with FFXIV (been playing since Sep 2013).

Since the Sep 8 2015 hotfix, I get a "FFXIV has stopped working" game only stop 3 or 4 times a day (over 6 hr day roughly).

Event log shows this as most recent 3 stops:

    "Faulting module name: nvwgf2umx.dll"

This suggests that something's up with your graphics drivers.
I would suggest a complete reinstall of the drivers. Not to worry though, it's quick and painless.

First, completely remove the drivers with this utility: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/...-download.html
Then download and install new drivers: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/download/dri...px/90744/en-uk

Well sure enough went ahead and removed Nvidia driver using utility you mentioned, then reinstalled most current driver. Worked fine for a couple days, but lo and behold on Sep 14 and today (Sep 15) I've experienced 4 game crashes (2 ea day):

Anyone else experience this with Windows 10 Pro 64 bit on FFXIV using DX11?

Seems like something is corrupting your files since it's the same file again. Is your computer behaving strangly in any way?

I would suggest you do a deep scan with your anti-virus software and also download and install Malwarebytes Anti-malware:

I run both Malwarebytes and Avast continually on, with new downloads checked (by both) along with once a week complete scans by both. I'm inclined to think this is a windows 10/DX11/FFXIV implementation issue of coding, but possibly the NVIDIA GTX 780 is involved in some way too. Just thought either someone would have similiar issues, or have a Windows 10 specific perspective.

Thanks all the same for your advise Jinwa!

In the meantime, I guess I'll just stay on dx9 for FFXIV, seeing SE has no input.

FYI - Other games I have using DX11 have absolutely no issues... only FFXIV (since patch 3.05 hotfix on 8 Sep 2015).

Hello friend. I have been having this problem as well and it drove me nuts. Apparently the crash happens because there is not enough power getting to the card when FFXIV tries to run on DX11, I solved it by adjusting the voltage of my card in BIOS to 1000+, but you could do the same using MSI Afterburner.

Anyway, hope that you've solved it already, and if not, that this helps.

I am having the exact same problem but after the latest NVidia driver update. SE should work with Nvidia to fix this.
