Ingame child!

I was thinking since we can get married and have a house, why not add an ingame child? A child that plays around in or outside of your private house.

The ingame child would work very similar to the " tamagotchi," toys.

You would play with it, feed it, put it to sleep etc... Give it emotions: happy to see you or sad when you are away (for too long). Buy or make special clothing, toys and accessories for your child.

If you haven't log into your private house in a while, the city will take your child away!

It's a bit creepy, but I like the idea. I usually like anything that can bring the only thing FFXIV lacks: interaction, but I really doubt the developers would design something like this for multiple reasons.

I would love the idea! And of course as long as that option also applies to same sex couples

The child could be made in a sort of "character creation", just like retainers so that if wanted to, the child could still look like a mix of both parents, even though biologically it couldn't be done. Just a cute idea~ Plus I've never been too fond of any game deciding for me how my character's child looks like. I love the customization of offspring.

The only thing I don't like is the child being taken away part, I don't think that would work well. It would be best just that the child is very upset or sick so you don't get any sort of bonuses or rewards from he/she.

I was afraid this was gonna be another one of those "let us have children as a playable race" threads (which are extremely creepy imo), but I actually kind of like this idea. Reminds me a little bit of the sims games. Would be really nice if we could have a little mini-game like this attached to our minions, or at least one or two minions at a time. I'd love to be able to log on and feed/clean up after my fat cat and keep it healthy and happy, and have it just roam around my room or spend its days sleeping on my couch or by the fireplace. :3

This is a cute idea, but there are several things that might cause SE to scrap the idea like:

1. Who is to take care of the child when you're not at the house? ( could hire an NPC babysitter maybe)
2. What happens if you and your EB partner split up but both want the kid? What happens to the child?
3. What do you do when the child grows up?

There is also the problem that with the way character customization is, that most males can look like old men. Now, some might find it funny but then there are those who take to roleplaying their character's age seriously....so...yeah.

Again cute idea but SE probably wants the players to have their characters focused on saving Eorzea than raising a child.

Is the baby's gonna be adopted or it is it going to take a female character getting pregnant for it? If it's the latter, well I can still be active hunting and doing daily roulettes for about 25 weeks or so, but after that, I need to stay at home lol
