There is no critical cap. Just stack as much as you want, taking into account other stat values.

actually, a few people have theorized that there is a cap(of sorts). you wouldnt be able to have over 50%, tho im not sure if that is still relivent.

"Theory" in this case meaning "just kinda assumed"? You would need somewhere around 2,300 rating just to try to test that, nevermind prove it.

Exactly, if there is a cap there's no way to reach it. With stats that are attainable there is no evidence nor has there ever been any evidence to think there's a cap. So with that in mind you can stack crit to your hearts content because you will not hit a cap with what's currently available or what will be available in the foreseeable future.
