Only 1 character slot?

i dont think that was ever the case, i had 3 slots in beta and had the option to bring them all over. i only have 1 character now so i really dont know.

You have to "pay" for more slots, even if you don't get charged, I believe.

I posted an answer to a similar question in a different thread so I'm just gonna quote it here, hopefully it will answer your question:

I'm really confused now...so it's buy to play (at the moment), but you need a character to play, and the monthly subscription is based on your number of characters...so...it's NOT buy to play but pay to play since you technically HAVE to have at least one character to play?

You pay nothing until they decide to charge a monthly fee, after you buy/register your game you can create as many characters as you want (the max is eight char., I believe), there is no fee currently for having a service account and for making characters. Each characters cost $0 at the moment just like the game account. Just make sure to delete and unregister any characters that you might not want to pay for before they start charging and you will be fine. You'll need at least one char. registered on your account to play though.
