Will we ever be able to remove our shoes?

I kind of want to take my shoes off. That includes the magical heels I wear underneath shoes. Not being able to remove them since spawning probably takes its toll on the warrior of light.

Will we ever be able to truly be barefoot? I'm sure this question has been asked already, but not recently apparently.

I have seen it asked recently actually, like a week or two ago.
And the answer is always the same: No.
They would have to change the model, too much work for little to no gain.

There are flat shoes already in the game, and visible feet in some shoes. What exactly would need to be changed so significantly?

Because you would be floating an inch or more off the ground, unless the warrior of lights feet have built in meat-platforms

They would have to alter the model, and also change their x/y position in the game data to make them stand on surfaces the way they are supposed to, also they would need to add in new sound effects to reflect bare feet on different surfaces.

It is more work than one might expect

I never understood why some devs force those horrible shoes to be used.
In real life i see girls in bikinis + bare foot. In many games i see bikinis + high heels which looks stupid, same like wearing socks with sandals

They will have to redo the body models* for this to happen(swapping in unique models isn't that simple). Skeleton changes as well as hieght adjustments, which is what those sandals are for. Any modeling decision, except for pallete swaps(I detest these because it is VERY lazy) by SE, I understand perfectly, having been a 3D modeler myself.




*Assuming those perfectly seamless models have no separate head/feet/hands mesh and it really is one whole body model.
