    *nod nod*

    Since the Mongols at the time of the empire didn't have the Latin script in which English is written, there will likely be variations for the spellings of many names. I used spellings from a translation of The Secret History of the Mongols, which is an old text written about the Mongolian Empire and Chinggis Qahan (Genghis Khan) in particular.

    Can we use multiple apostrophes in a name? If not, then it may be prudent to remove those or look for alternatives. Also, what about gender-neutral names?

    Good questions! I'll figure out the apostrophes and get back on that one. As for gender neutral names, the names on the list are from figures from old texts on Mongolian history, so I based the gender of the name off the listed gender of the person. It is entirely possible for some of them to be gender neutral, but I don't know offhand. I would recommend looking at both lists, finding a name you like, and researching how that name is/was used for people outside of the old texts. I'm no expert, but thanks to one very interesting and specific college elective class, I have the means and knowledge of where to look at the texts.

    I found the name Inkeh, but not sure if it "old enough" to actually work?

    Given that Xaela names are based on pre-empire Mongol names, you can just combine a Middle Mongol noun and modifier to come up with a name.
    http://heraldry.sca.org/names/mongol...mes_marta.html

    I'm making a list myself, ex:
    Sarangerel = moonlight
    Sarankhara = dark moon

    Some words I thought might be popular for female Xaela:
    saran = moon
    naran = sun
    gerel = light
    sarnai = rose
    tsetseg = flower
    altan = gold
    khara = black, dark
    ...

    Just use some online translation for other basic words and combine them, would work out.

    For anyone curious, I got the names from here:

    https://jigjids.files.wordpress.com/...ggis_khan1.pdf

    It's a long and heavy read, but it has a lot of pre Mongolian Empire names. I kinda misspoke, the text is more about the founding of the empire in the beginning, and then around the middle it gets more into the earlier days. My goal was to slog through all the pages to get the names so everyone wouldn't have to themselves if they were interested.
