Anyone know if ffxiv will run on windows 10?
Anyone know if ffxiv will run on windows 10?
It currently runs great on the Windows 10 Preview, so I would imagine it will run great on the actual release.
I imagine you're asking because of that free Windows 10 popup everyone's getting?
Yeah I got it today
Was wondering the same thing, i signed up for the free release thingy-me-bob, but i was unsure if it would run FFXIV well.
I can guarantee with almost 100% certainty that Square Enix is well aware of Windows 10 and are planning to fully support it. Also, nVidia and AMD are definitely working on compatible Windows 10 graphics drivers. So by the time Windows 10 is released on 29th July, everything should be compatible.

If you are using a notebook, you might want to postpone the Windows 10 upgrade though until the GPU vendors fully caught up: Currently, the Heavensward Benchmark crashes on my machine (NVidia Quadro K3100M) immediately when choosing DirectX 11. DirectX 9 works fine, though. No problems on Windows 8.1.
I am sure the problem will be gone by the time W10 is released, but you really want to make a full backup / hard disk image of your computer before upgrading, so that in case something does get screwed up, you have a way back.
i have a slightly off-topic question...
The heck happened to Windows 9?
Old news and quite wrong. The only costs for Win10 are if you are currently using a bootleg version, or if you have a registered version of Windows from Vista on up to the current 8.1 and wait a year or more to upgrade. The subscription/charge rumors were rumors and nothing more.To those who are considering windows 10, I would suggest caution on such a decision. It is self-proclaimed as a 'freemium operating system', meaning many features will be locked unless you decide to pay extra.
You've heard of pay to win? This is pay to Function.
I for one will wait and see what is and isn't free, before I decide to upgrade.
After the free year, or if you buy a new version, it will be what they market it as.
