Will new housing be added sometime soon?

Hello! I am from Excalibur, and I have been saving up for quite some time to buy a free company mansion. Needless to say, every single plot is taken in every ward throughout all of my server.

I haven't really tried going the route of buying from an existing owner yet, as I know that it would probably be even more expensive than what they originally payed for it due to the current supply and demand.

So, does anyone know if a general time frame has been mentioned or announced as to when new housing plots and wards will be added so that more of the many, many people wanting housing can finally be satisfied?

Probably never..
I don't think SE's ever going to reach that point with houses..

What we know so far is Ishgard will not have housing upon launch.. Somewhere between the lines there, most of us have also accepted that to mean that no new wards in 3.0. Some optimists are hoping for 3.1 which would be September at the earliest. If I had to guess... I think around end of this year or beginning of next.

I think it might be a good idea to create a whole new ward devoted to private owned houses and the rest for FC's. I'm in Jenova and there's a massive shortage of plots. My old FC has a big house and their owners each have their own private mansions....neither of them play anymore and that FC is inactive. So that's 3 plots sitting unused. Who knows what other single plots are owned by people who don't play anymore. It's a waste. Perhaps that might not be the best solution but it could be a viable one.

I can't even imagine the pricing/shortage on other servers (almost all) more populated than Jenova

No plots on Leviathan. All I need really is a small for my FC. Got the money saved up in the last few weeks, now just waiting for new wards.

I doubt they even care at this point. Nothing has been said about it and it's my belief that they just want to ignore it long enough in the hopes it will go away or the population will go back down to pre-Yoshi levels where they are more comfortable. I really don't believe they have any idea how to handle an mmo with these large numbers of players. 500k is about where they are comfortable. Getting into the millions and they start to misstep because they don't understand populations larger than FFXI.
