I hate being that guy, but I will be. I'm on day 4 of 4 where I've noticed a Pld and a Whm in DF roullette EX and anywhere the tank move the whm would follow. There were geared 129+, but only doing half pulls. I seen the tank say Cure and benediction followed with mt on the Benediction. I did notice a cure right away. I did notice a benediction right away. on day 4 of 4, (today.) now i can't prove much but on one specific pull there is a spot the tank may need a Benediction. I i typed What no Benediction and waited to push enter. as the tank neared 40% health I hit enter. I got the Benediction, and subsequently the tank died and said: "You ***hole, don't do that." in chat. Btw, Asking for erase on last boss I almost succeeded in killing the tank a second time, except this time the Whm said: "Didn't I tell you not to do that." Very odd cause it was the tank that said it.....

Just wanted to give everyone an FYI this bot is out there. I'm sorry I work too hard for my stuff, and don't think that belongs in DF. It is against ToS, and I can cheat in IRL and find a scheme to make millions, and eventually got o jail. I get its just a game, but It totally kills the fun factor. This person even insulted the other member in my PT saying they caused the wipe, but every pt I go into what the cause is something dps are "expected" to do without being told.it seems to be big on primal's Aether, and I'm not releasing names today but oddly enough the two characters are from 2 Different FC's, (that match 3 of the 4 days,) but from the same world, and yeah Since I started my FFXIV career there; I'll drop that world as Hyperion. Sorry to break it to the DEVs we got another bot problem.

The next pairing I come across like this I'll update this post or make a new one and call you out publicly. My request yesterday stated being investigated, and was closed today...... Not that I have intentions of running the game this way, but as a small check, two monitors in 1080p on a gtx 760, I can right click on my FFXI Icon and run as different user user and as long as I'm running them in window mode I can swap with ALT+TAB and instantly control the other character.

I'm not very happy about this, as I know I can duo/trio any of the a ranks with friends. if you used that illegal technology on that, think about the game balance being upset. You guys are the biggest MMO atm, you're going to be most targeted. I don't want to see that bot kill FFXIV the way it ruined FFXI. I hope the Devs are reading. its only time before they get smart and change the program to be more undetectable.

well in XI i did dual boxing with 2 accounts and im pretty sure he do that. Ican by login my account and use my brothers on the ps4 and there we go i kinda dual boxing

This just sounds like dual boxing to be honest. I myself dual box on occasion but I don't run two of my accounts through the same dungeon. Never even tried it to be honest because I know I'd get myself and my group killed. ^^

Okay, maybe I'm just confused here, but what you're describing of "I can right click on my FFXI Icon and run as different user user and as long as I'm running them in window mode I can swap with ALT+TAB and instantly control the other character." is not botting, it's multi-boxing. Big difference. Alt+tabbing between two clients still requires manual control of each client.

That being said, being able to call out a command in chat on one character and have the other unmanned character perform the action is indeed a problem. Sounds like a script kiddie found an exploit in the chat system. And this is something that should most definitely be looked into, because if you can control another character through chat commands, who's to say you can't control other players characters in the same way if the exploit could be further manipulated.

OK, note i'm a 17 year IT pro. I'd never fathom this creation from rules, and I'm not dealing with code when I come home, but i can see how it would be easily done.

I can too, now that I think about it. Especially after noting it performed the function when you, an unrelated character, place the command in open chat. Would require a third-party tool written to "listen" for particular words and then perform related commands on the client it's attached to. Pretty primitive and sloppy though, as you've shown it's easily detectable.

Out of curiosity, is it just about the word "Cure" and "Benediction" or was the auto-translate version of those skills used? Just want to know what to look out for, or type if something seems suspicious.

Not to be rude - 17 and pro do not belong in the same sentence when it comes to IT. That being said, my suggestion is if you see this again, record it and exploit the faults in their script.
