Disciples of Arts :: role-playing subclasses

I remember seeing people asking about "missing vampires in Eorzea", and plenty of "bring over the FF11 classes" or "more special emotes" posts, so I thought of something: Disciples of Arts (role-playing subclasses).
    Brainstorming...

    Basically... (tl;dr):
Adventurers would complete special quests from NPCs to earn emotes, unique glamour/gear, visual modifications (i.e. sharp Fangs), and possibly small stat benefits to their character.

The rewards will allow adventurers to "become" Dancers, Thiefs, or even Vampires as role-playing sub-classes after they collect the provided sets.

    Disciple of Arts Specifics:
After meeting certain requirements, the Adventurer will be able to start a quest-chain from a certain NPC which will have the player learn more about the lore to certain Arts (role-playing professions) or complete a set of tasks.

The quests will award the player with a set of role-playing gifts upon completing them.
For example, completing a DoA quests about Dancers, will reward the adventure with the Final Fantasy 11 Dancer's Outfit items (head/hat, body, hands, legs, feet), a new dance emote, and a title "Dancer". That way, if the class doesn't get to appear in FF14, players can still enjoy the gear and lore.

    Possible Arts and restrictions:
The DoAs can be from a range of anything that suggests role-playing, without needing to break the game balance.

Updated Actions & Traits Menu : 12 DoA sub-classes mockup. Skills from DOTA.

Here are 12 example categories show in the image above:
    • Dancer
    • Demon (e.g. Werewolf, Vampire)
    • Musician (e.g. Songstress)
    • Scribe (e.g. Artist, Writer)
    • Aristocrat (e.g. Regal/Royal)
    • Tracker (e.g. Hunter)
    • Fortune Teller
    • Tradesman
    • Butler (e.g. Maid)
    • Thief
    • Student
    • Priest (e.g. Shrine Maiden)
So by completing the Vampire quests, the Vampire rewards will appear in the Demon Arts section.
The mockup shows how the player can mix up to 5 different earned Apparel Arts to use at once. Vampire? Dancer? Why not parts from both?

Traits and Actions, Buffs and Debuffs
If researched and if it seems possible, it could be possible to unlock additional traits or rare actions from Disciples of Arts, such as Enhanced Vitality (VIT+2) from Monster lore quests, or Enhanced Intelligence (INT+2) from Fortune Teller quests which can be equipped as 1 of the 5 subclass slot perks.

Buffs could also be played with. For example, A Vampire perk could gain +5 DEX and STR during night, but -7 DEX and STR during day, etc.

Vampire, Merchant, and Pirate Class from Bravely Default.

This looks amazing and interesting! Very well developed aswell! It would be a great addition and I'm sure it would please a lot of players as many like to dress and act funny in public while others could use the perks to enhance roleplaying experiences.

I can imagine a questline similar to Hildibrand with many eccentric characters that would lead us to the bonuses of such a class!

Speaking as the person who launched the vampire thread and RP my blog as a vampire hunter I really like your idea and find it amazing how much work you put into it.

All that remains is finding lore reason for the existence of RP classes. Thantalos anyone? Hey, yeah. Why isn't there theater in Eorzea?

Isn't there one in Old Gridania? o.O Not that it's actually used for anything outside of seasonal events. And...one of the DoH/L quests.

Outside of that, I think this is a pretty cool idea and utilizes a lot of the in-game shenanigans they pull to introduce seasonal events and stuff lore-wise. Although I would much prefer an actual Dancer class (or whatever name they decide to use to call it) for in-combat awesomeness - perhaps some of these roleplaying traits and/or skills could have cosmetic changes to your character in combat as well. Such as unique stance changes and animations (jumping, running, or even skill executions) to help involve the role-play aspect of your character being the thing you're trying to be. It essentially is just a 'skin' for your character in various ways - another level of glamour so-to-speak. It would even open up new quest-lines and mystery for other side-quests. Much like how glamour spheres I think took the idea from Sylphs - who are naturally adept at disguises.

Well since we can become postmoogles I don't see any reason why we cant be dancers or vampires

    I don't think it's necessary.

Many things OP mentioned can be glamoured and be obtained in various methods: gold saucer, special events, post-moogle, etc
