Buster Sword xmog

I had to stop and think...people want "iconic weapons" from FF games.
Other than names that carry from one game to another that get slapped onto different weapons, what ARE those?
Cloud's Buster sword
Barret's gun arm
Squall's gunblade
Tidus' Brotherhood sword
Lightning's swiss army gun sword
Wakka's blitzball
...what else?

Tidus's Brotherhood Sword for PLDs
Barret's Gun for MCH
Wakka's Blitzball for AST - LOL
Buster Sword for DRK

Gunblade can't really be done well right now because there isn't a class that uses a sword and a gun in one.

How about Rikku's Godhand for MNK, Kimahri's Spirit Lance for DRG, Aaron's Masamune for DRK? I liked FF10 incase you couldn't tell.

It's not going to happen, as the Buster Sword already appears as one of the melee Limit Breaks (I still remember the outcry when the 'Crystal's Call' trailer showed a DRG using it!).

Because of this, you most likely will not see a Buster Sword as an equippible weapon - but then stranger things have happened.

It doesn't need to be fully functional. I mean, we have a gunblade in-game already, which is Lightning's Gunblade. It's a GLD main hand. it doesn't work as a gun but it does work as a blade.

I don't think there will be that much people, you don't see a lot of players cosplayed as the WoL or Lightning, only lightning hair is quite used I think, but not to look like her but because it looks nice, I don't think there will be a lot of these players.

Well, when we use Limit Break 1/2 for DPS, we use the Buster Sword... so its technically already modeled in the game.

What about a Gunblade? But not Lightning's Gunblade, that one is lame. I mean the true and one Gunblade.

Isn't Lightning's gunblade is a true gunblade...as it's ACTUALLY a gunblade that is a gun...and a blade?

These are two types of gunblades. Lightning can switch her weapon into either a gun or a blade. Squall's gunblade doesn't shoot bullets. Ever. The explosion transmits a shockwave that goes through the blade and that, apparently, increases its efficiency when you slash things. Fantasy games's logic. I can't argue that at all. As you say (And I agree), Squall's weapon looks way better in my opinion. Either the regular Gunblade or the might Lionheart, which is a super duper pretty weapon. And as a side note, in this game, you have a couple gun/melee weapon hybrids. The Garleans use them a lot.

Some Garlean soldiers also use gunblades. So, lorewise, having a Gunblade that looks like Squall's weapon doesn't sound crazy at all. So we can only hope.
