    Idea to make relics less of a grind...

    You know a lot of the relic stuff has you repeat old content? Well how about if you have a new person in the dungeon/FATE/trial, etc. the odds go up. Like if you clear Garuda HM with someone who hasn't cleared it before you get 2-5x the lights per person cleared, or a drop increase for zodiac if you clear for the first time.

    This would be a lot more appealing of a draw to me than soldiery nowadays. Soldiery has pretty much no value to me and probably many others anymore, short of getting animus books, but at least for me I acquire the soldiery a lot faster than I work through the books.

    Most "make Relic grinds easier" ideas I see thrown around tend to be pretty bad, this one however is pretty good and goes along well with the veterans being rewarded for helping newer players precedence that SE has set already with bonus tomes.

    I'm not really sure about giving that much of a boost to light per person, but I could definitely see getting bonus light (one light tier) if someone is new.

    That's exactly why having a relic appeals to me. I remember having a blast in FFXI helping with CoP missions or farming a new players subjob items. If FFXI had token systems many people would have CoP done. Everytime I use my Nirvana I look back on how many times I killed Garud... *ahem* people I helped with content to get it.

    Hm, what about the Animus books? I recently finished my 3rd one past Animus Warrior and it was very, VERY long. :/ I know SE has reduced the tombstones required which is great but the bulk of the tasks is still intact and quite lengthy.

    Instead, why don't they reduce the books to maybe just 4 and give each stat you obtain to the full amount?

    E.g. (Warrior Atma since I recently finished it and remember the stats)

    Instead of:
    STR 2/2/2
    VIT 2/2/2
    Parry 2/1
    Skill Speed 2
    Total - 9 books

    It becomes:
    STR 6
    VIT 6
    Parry 3
    Skill Speed 2
    Total - 4 books

    If they did this, they should increase the books to 1000-1100 soldiery to keep it near even as though you'd buy 9 books (or just keep it the same price which would be nice too ^^). The STR and VIT would be the obvious choice to obtain first >< but you'd need to complete them anyway to obtain Animus...

    I know SE loves time sinks but I hope they implement something like this. Hopefully my idea isn't too bad... :3

    My idea for having relic users contribute to new players:

    Atma: Give a x% drop increase for each pre-50 player participating in the FATE. Level appropriate players may contribute or players too high may not at all.
    Books: Give X amount of tomes if a new player accomplishes a dungeon for the first time when you do your book.
    Alexandrite: For FATEs, same things as Atma (very helpful for helping players level new jobs in Cortheas, or bring new life into Bluefog FATES back in 2.0. Also increase the amount of tomes if a new player clear content the first time while doing Expert Roulette.
    Lights: Increase lights by one more steps or by a multiplier if a new person clears content for the first time.
    Zodiac: Increase drop rate by x% for each item involved.

    You are a genius, this would totally change the common "aww" and "onoes..." feeling when starting a dungeon with a newbie into a "omg yes!!!"
