SO much housing not bought yet

I don;t know about anywhere else, but the subdivision I live in has 8 unsold houses.

All of them cost 32 million or more. I bought mine for 4 million, and I thought that was a lot. (I play on a legacy server with my legacy GF but I am not from legacy)

Perhaps housing prices were a bit too high?

There are lots of unsold houses on Levi. Even smalls. I decided to scoop one up though as I the few plots that were selling were my favorites.

On Gilgamesh there are ALOT of unsoid houses, most of the new sub divisions only have like 2 to 10 houses bought. And people were complaining about not enough housing before.

Same on Diabolos, there's a ton of houses available on this server, but seems like most of the popular small plots are gone. I think alot of the complaints before were from the lack of available plots at the launch of the personal housing system due to the FC's having enough time to save up enough to get even a small house. But if you do the math the patch opened up a total of 720 plots per server, quite a few if you ask me when you consider just how much the average person has vs the price of the houses, it's gonna take time to fill all of those plots.

I know I might buy a larger plot but first #1 I would need to be able to sell my old plot, not just abandon it and #2 I would need to make enough gil to do it

I am saving up for a personal mansion. Only then will I partake in housing.

could be because a lot of players view "personal" housing as a joke and want nothing to do with it. Theres also more than a few people holding out for Ishgard housing.

It's funny to see people having heart attacks about how housing gets bought up instantly on servers like Balmung and Excalibur.
And then we have threads like this.
There's plenty of unsold lots on Ultros, come to our server and you too can own the home of your dreams!

Part of it is that the plots put in were at their base cost, not the current (depreciated) prices. Once time passes and the plots go down in cost, and people make money from the new market, I'm sure the remaining plots will fill out.

My fiancee and I finally purchased our Free Company house in one of the new subdivisions on Gilgamesh today. It took the two of us a long, long, LONG time to save up the gil for it. I am sure, as the prices continue to fall, more and more plots will be picked up!
