Some questions to be answered.... i hope

Hi
1) I just started to play this FFXIV and I wondered.....
if there was a way to change the language in game... since most people talk english and i get kinda confused since my game is in german....

2) if there are some guildspots in the the town on lindblum ... that town where Bismarck is....(forgot the name of the town) so i could get some help from people who have some time to spare =)
The town is called Limsa lominsa

3) linked to the second question: are there any newbie friendly guilds i could join?

4) can i have more than 1 class with 1 character? how does it work?

5) yea... i'm kinda too lazy to browse throught the whole forum... so sorry for being annoying =)

People speak on whatever language they like.Only NPC are affected by your language.

You can browse the server forums, Im sure there should be some linkshells you can join.

You equip a diferent weapon or tool.

I would sugest to post in your own language forums. Some like me dont even have that luxury(im assuming you are german)

I wanted to change the ingame language so I could understand what others are talking about....
for example... I was looking for Bartfels... so I asked around.. but noone knew..... till someone asked me if I was looking for Beardrock!!! since I could easily translate that it wasn't a big deal
But I bet there're other translation problems....

sooo.... if I could change the language.... there wouldn't be a problem anymore =)

and ...this forum doesn't have a linkshell topic... or i just can't seem to find it

If you go to the adverntures guild each one has a npc that will let you hire a retainer. This is basically a npc that will hold, buy (although limited), and sell stuff for you inside the marketwards as you play the game.

Hey there! To change in-game language, you can open the program called 'FFXIV Config' and select your language in there. It will affect the entire game, aside from PC speech. Players speak in whatever language they know, and since it's too loose to translate properly, that obviously won't get translated. However, there are many useful phrases that you can use with the 'Auto-translate' tool. To do that, type part of the phrase you want and push the 'Tab' button, then hit 'Enter' on the choice you want. This will cause the phrase to show up in whatever language the listeners' games are set to.

For the linkshells, you just have to find somebody in the game who is willing to invite you to their linkshell. You can also make your own from a certain NPC in each city who gives linkshells out to create.

And yes, you can play any class on a single character! To do this, just equip different weapon types and you will automatically change to the corresponding class. Be careful though, as having many classes may also mean having to hold a lot of different items, and you only have 100 inventory slots available, although that's much more than was given in FFXI
