Hello all. Wondering if im the only Fios user that is getting rubberbanding for no apparent reason?
Hello all. Wondering if im the only Fios user that is getting rubberbanding for no apparent reason?
Its Verizon or SE or the node that's causing packet loss, whoever you want to blame. Either way its not getting fixed anytime soon so get a VPN like WTFast or pingzapper to fix the problem. It sucks but that's all we got till someone does something
Solution:
Download WTFast, set your server to United States NA VA 1.
From my research and a traceroute, it seems the issue is how Verizon FiOS routes the signal to Montreal. I guess they have a server farm or something in VA (Hello, NSA? ) that spikes the ping dramatically.
Bypass it by using WTFast. Ping went from 332 MS to 28 MS.
Yes, FIOS has had trouble with this game from the launch and has refused to acknowledge/fix it.
No, all FiOS users are screwed, and it isn't just ARR either. The cause is one of the router hops (like alter.net) are set wrong and Verizon don't care.
Had the issue, and would always lag as much as 2-3 seconds during peak hours, then finally went with a routing service and never lagged since.
Too bad this doesn't fix the issue with SE's lack of creative endgame content.
I'm on ATT Uverse and I'm having horrible lag too and I've checked my side and everything else is running perfect except FFXIV...
I have a pretty big writeup here:
