Crysta purchase no longer accepts PayPal?

I saw that there is a discontinuation of Ultimate Game Card and Ultimate Points, http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...3368969ee71d38 However, there's no mentioning about paying with PayPal through Ultimate Pay (PlaySpan). Today I tried to add more Crysta but there is no "more" options in the payment method selection screen or in Crysta purchase page.

What's happening? Is it temporarily down due to a maintenance or something related to the aforementioned discontinuation? Or are we now permanently without PayPal payment method for Crysta???

I'm confused about this. I remember reading somewhere that they wouldn't be discontinuing paypal? It's my preferred payment method too.

Edit: Yep, looks like they just chunked the whole thing out, regardless that it was the only way to get to the paypal option. On the other hand, I tried the visa option on a whim, sure that it would reject my card but it actually went through. xD

Ah, thank you for alternative method. But the old method allows me to buy 1000 crysta (enough for 1 month) for $9.99. The game time card will make it about 50% more expensive, which will hurt terribly in the long run.

I am hoping that the UltimatePay => PlaySpan => Paypal => Crysta method is only unavailable temporarily and will be back soon.

Should be pointed out that this is the NA store, the cards are likely to only work with NA games. I took a look around the EU store and couldn't find any cards but maybe someone else can

I don't know if you noticed but there is no way to pay with time cards or game cards either?
only shows Visa and Debit sooooo cant do that either i guess...?

EU has physical time cards available, and webstores selling them will email you a scan of the code.

Could always just buy a prepaid credit card and use that to add crysta.

While I was dealing with customer support yesterday (due to them rejecting every card I have with the 401, 406, and 601 errors, even though my banks say there is nothing wrong...), they stated that they "retired" the other pay method (i.e. PayPal) so that I would get the same errors whether I tried entering my card again for auto-renew or tried purchasing crysta. Poor decision, SE...
