    /equip macros

    I know there are probably mre pressing issues at the moment but i was curious if there are any plans to change the way equipment is equiped - specifically the /equip macro? maybe its just me but i wish everthing would equip at the same time to avoid that 10/ 12 second delay that takes place everytime you change your class.

    Anyone else have issues with this??

    Agreed.

    Though it would be even better if when switching classes it remembered what you were wearing and just auto equipped everything for you.

    Same deal for actions and traits.

    I agree as well, not sure if its because of server lag or if they really want us to wait that long for stuff to equip, but it is annoying. I would also like it to remember my last equipped gear on a given class, remembering my equipped abilities and traits would be nice too. ^^

    I don't like the equip macros because based on what was equipped in the first place, the order of your bar might change. Sometimes the skill that you always have to have equipped goes to a different spot based on which class I'm going to and from.

    You mean gaurd? Haha that ability is so bitchy. I always have to remember to keep eaction 2 free, and even then its no guarantee that once i press the macro for my gear and abilities that guard will be in the right place.

    Yeah, but that isn't always the only one. My pug and lancer classes don't have auto added abilities to switching from them into something else usually sends me to manually tweaking things.

    And then there's the issue of action points and abilities being kept in numerical order, with the abilities in the higher numbered slots being removed when you don't have the points for them... which really sucks if you have resurrect in a higher numbered slot and switch to a class that doesn't have the AP to support it.

    All in all the system for switching classes is a bear, and needs optimization for ease of use.

    I thought I read that most abilities will be set automatically with the 1.20 job patch - anyone know if that's true?

    May be Dev team have some prolem programming it or server side thing. If not please let use equip intantly just like ffxi. I miss swap gear at fight

    In reinhart's famitsu interview translation thread the dev team alludes to a planned feature that will ease storage concerns and equipment changing concerns with the armory system... lemme see if I can find the exact passage.

    Famitsu: What kind of measures is being taken for inventory space as with armory system you will require to carry a lot of equipment?

    Yoshida: might say not that again, but this will be after repairs to the root. Plan is already made but will need to be changed along with swapping the UI. Will try to make it by PS3 release but currently can’t give exact date on it yet.

    Famitsu: What kind of system will it be?

    Yoshida: Planning to give information through the forum regarding this but, for image being able to one touch to change gear that was set previously. The plan is to make it so it doesn’t take inventory space like crazy. Looking closely regarding this one.

    So... Ouch, that it's not expected to be ready until closer to ps3 launch... Hopefully with server ugrades and UI upgrades it will become less of an issue though.
