Struggling to level from level 30-40?
Barely scraped through from the 20-30 ordeal?
A lot of people know of this zone but there are still many unaware and unprepared. I'm hoping this helps.
These mobs should be giving an avarage of 300SP - 400SP, both far outweighing Sp Gains from Behest and Leves with Guardian Aspect enabled.
Camp Iron Lake!
NOTE: Becareful if you are running here from Camp Skull Valley as there are aggresive kobolds/raptors on the way.
Things to take note of:
- Raptors have low defense and low hp, which makes them a rich source of SP.
However, their aoes hit like trains. Dps should avoid standing behind or infront of raptors as they have a frontal AoE Cone and a Backkick AoE from behind that deals massive damage. Casters / Archers should stay ranged.- Try and keep your parties levels tight. You don't want a massive level gap causing xp penalities.
- Raptors are aggresives mobs with fast chasing movement speed, so becareful of respawns!
With that said, lets proceed.
Ranks 30-34
Ranks 30-34 will want a party of 4 or 5.
1 Main heals and an assistant healer is always good, but these days, most tanks have Cure II to assist.
First head north to 19, 5 (X,Y AXIS). Clear the camp of R40-44 Raptors.
Then, use return to teleport back to Camp Iron Lake for free (assuming you touched the aetherite crystal as your return point)
Then head south to 27,9 (X,Y AXIS). Clear the camp of R40-44 Raptors.
Hit Return and start again.
Ranks 35-38
Ranks 35-40 can do this with just a party of 3 or 4 with 1 healer.
Head South to 27,9 (X,Y AXIS). Clear the camp of R40 -44 Raptors.
Head Further South West to 25, 11 (X, Y AXIS). Clear the camp of R44-47 Raptors.
Head back north, rinse repeat.
Ranks 38-40
Head South West to 25, 11 (X, Y AXIS). Clear the camp of R44-47 Raptors.
Head South East to 27 ,12 (X, Y AXIS). Clear the camp of R48-49 Raptors.
(Becareful of these, they hit hard.)
Final Tips:
Remember to keep Stoneskin/Protect/Shock Spikes active on both yourself and the party. (Shell is not required)
The AOE's and Aggressive Respawns make buffs essential, and due to Stoneskin's 0 enmity and low MP cost, it outweights wasting mp on curaga.
If return is on cooldown, make the most of the downtime. Killing the goats/mouses for 100SP or so, then use return when it is available.
It may be tedious spending 20% of your characters level life in one zone, but the xp that rewards is enough to justify it.
If i get good feedback, i will post more zone leveling tips in the future (with pictures next time)
Enjoy!
