Lightning Strikes Interfering with FATE Hunts

I picked up my daily hunt marks today, and one of them was "Glutenous Gertrude" for the fate outside of Swiftperch. This is the same fate that corresponds with the Lightning Strikes event.

I killed her twice, and to my astonishment... neither counted towards the mark kill. As it stands, i am unable to complete the Glutenous Gertrude kill for my daily fate hunt, and will have to drop it after I kill my other hunt mobs.
While I suppose it's not too inconvenient being as I only miss out on 10 seals, it's still a bug that needs to be looked at.

Has anyone else encountered fate mobs for the lightning event + Fate Hunts that arn't counting towards your hunt seals?

It's not the same fate actually, there is the original Glutenous Gertrude and the Lightning version, they usually alternate ( 1 normal, 1 lightning, 1 normal, etc... )

I was wondering if they did, but I did them two in a row (sat out here and waited ) and got nothing... I'll go and sit some more and see if they do alternate. Thanks for the heads up!

    *Edit
This does not seem to be the case. The normal fate spawns, but then lightning shows up halfway through the kill, thus, I suppose, changing the makeup of the fat and not giving credit towards your hunt marks. I have yet to encounter the "Normal" fate being as lightning shows up during the kill.

If you see Lightning speak about how she got drawn into (this) world, and how she has to keep fighting or something [I forgot what she says exactly], that's not the fat dodo you want to fight. Make sure you don't see a pink-haired anorexic lady fighting it to be sure as well.

I've checked. The mob has the red mandragora mark over it's head.
Killed three times now, same thing. The Hunt Mark icon is still over the name once lightning shows up. No credit given.

Fourth time. Lightning spawned again. Im wondering if they changed it from last year?

Good news is, it gave me an Atma of the Crab.

    *Edit:

After the fourth time in a row, Tender Buttons spawned instantly after the Lightning version and I was able to get my marks. Phew. Still rather annoying, hopefully that's something that can be fixed!

If I remember from last year it's basically random if Lightning shows up or not. If she does then it's technically a different FATE to the normal one so you won't get credit. You'd just have to keep trying until you get one without Lightning.

Sounds like an oversight to me. Hunts obviously weren't around back the last time this event took place. The way the low level Lightning FATEs work is that there are now two separate copies of the FATE that spawn; one being the one we've normally seen, and one being another one with the same name and description and everything, it just has Lightning appear during the FATE, and apparently the mob is not considered to be the same mob despite having the same name.

If anyone remembers magian trials from FFXI and how they would have you go around killing a specific NM 3-4 times, you'll also remember that even if it was a NM that appeared in Nyzul Isle, killing it there didn't count. You had to kill the "real thing" in its normal habitat.

If they care enough, they might do an emergency maint for it. Since they might not though, about your only consolation is that these FATEs are now considered to be two different FATEs, which increases the frequency that one of the copies will spawn (they just both cannot be up at the same time).o this is sorta similar to that.
