With the adjustments of patch 1.18 linking leves isn't very beneficial, and you only are granted your bonus for completion. It's time to reduce the timer on the issuance reset!
I would like to see the reset timer be totally abolished. But even if they were on a 2hr reset it would make FFXIV more accessible to all players!
To balance things, keep the gil/item/guild point reward on a long timer that way to avoid further inflation. or just reduce them all together.
Yoshi P stated that guildleves are no longer the heart of FFXIV, that they are now a system for solo players to advance their class selections. The timer now dictates when and when class I level, which is a hinderance to a style of gameplay.
For instance: Yesterday I picked up 5 leves for my lancer and 3 for my conjurer. I finished off all 8 leves in a course of a few hours. Over all I had a fairly productive session. Today I log in and only have a hour to play. This would be the perfect opportunity to do a few leves. But there is still 8 hours until the reset.... I can go and grind on mobs for a hour and get a little SP. I can run (on foot) and complete a quest or two for some SP. I can search for a PT to join (there are none!) or I can craft, but I don't want/like to craft. SO that leaves me, who wants to skill up my conjurer with nothing substantial to do for 8 hours until leves reset.
Guildleves should be a on demand or on a very short reset timer, so when you do log in and have minimal amounts of time to spend you can at least pick up a few leves and tele to the camp and advance a little bit. Even if you had a whole day to spend in game. Leves should still be available to you when you want. There is no guarantee that 3-7 other people want to get together and tackle a dungeon, or maybe it's just on of those days (and there are a lot) when the stars don't align just right and you get a SP grind PT.
Leves need to be ALWAYS available.
