I know it's 25 pages old at this point, but here is a list of food combos posted up to about page 41 when I realized there was no way I could keep up:

I'm really happy I screenshotted the time, food, and messages I got (wrote them out for this thread). I wonder if it's the number of "feathers" messages we should be counting with each fruit type. For example: To get Millioncorn Yellow, you need two "feathers" messages with the apples. Or it could be the "plumage" part. I'm not sure.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their chocobo dying experience! I wanted my bird to be a nice blue, so I fed him 21 O'Ghomoro Berries all in a row at one time (as documented in the Google spreadsheet).

I did not take a screen shot of the chat log. However, I did analyze it and after the feeding the third berry, I received the "...is beginning to grow new feathers!" message. Then I continued to receive that message after each additional berry going forward.

This morning I logged in and was delighted to discover my chocobo is now Othard Blue!

First feeding 25 x Mamook Pear 5 x Doman Plums 5 x Cieldalaes Pineapple turned into Apple Green



Second feeding 10 x Mamook Pear 5 x Xelphatol Apple x 5 O'ghomoro Berries

Got the message of him growing new feathers on first Pear and last Berry

Will post results in 5 hours time ~♪

I did it in 1 feeding HOWEVER I didn't do it all blue then all green.

Fed 2 O'gomorro
Fed 1 Pear
Fed 4 O'gomorro
Fed 2 Pear
then rest of the O'gomorro
then rest of the Pears

I got Peacock Blue in 1 feeding

the other problem with going by feather counts is it may be that you can skip a color. but it ifs 1 - 3 then i don't think you can skip a color but if its 4 or more you can skip colors on accident. to fix this you could use a lighten color so we need confirmation that you can get deeper tiers then use a lighten to lower it back to previous colors this is why i think they added han lemon was because of the rng since it would be hard to get back to original number to start over. if anyone takes more then 4 fruits to get the first timer please post i have yet to have this happen. also does anyone know how i know when its done? because good guessing? so yes after confirmation it needs to go by the amount of feather changes is says when you add the fruit. Since fruit is rng based but feather changes is a solid thing happening. So unfortunately the chart is mostly useless because it could take more or less fruits to get the desired color.

Been trying for black. This is as close to black as I'm gonna get without actually getting black. So far I've gone from Aldgoat Brown > Abyssal Blue > Midnight Blue > Ink Blue. I think maybe if I up my red a bit I may end up with Soot Black but I'm not sure If I want to this point.

Just an idea, but may be the condition of the stable modify the value of each fruit, that would explain why some ppl get the message with more or less fruits and the different colors using the same combination.

Chocobo level and/or point distribution could also have something to do with it. I don't actually think they'd bring character race/clan/deity/GC affiliation into it, but it's possible.

I meant to get four new feather messages for the Plum first but overlooked it and went back and added two more

in my stable that was good condition i had a person get the message with one and two with three so stable conditions doesn't seem to matter as i can tell post a few pages back says hoe at certain time you can add colors and it doesn't say plumage will change so it must be when it says this that you aquire a new color. it seems to be alot like the custom font RGB thing you can get many colors with different number it may be that people are going over color limit and going back down to like 22 and stuff or that they are getting 1,1,1,1 so they are to low
