FFXIV is a success and claim over 2 million players. Now time has come for Yoshida and Square Enix to fulfill a promise made since V2 announcement :

Give us a EU server in EU !

Why ? Because anyone who has played a low latency mmorpg knows it's better and not just a little bit.

Note that a recent less successful MMORPG (Elders scroll online from Zenimax) made this promise too. Today, after 6 month it becomes reality for EU players who can enjoy a far better gaming experience.


Edit : To check ping of FFXIV :
Ctrl+Alt+Delete -> Task Manager -> Performance Tab -> Resource Monitor -> Network Tab -> TCP connections
Look for ffxiv.exe process, latency column.

Playing at about 120~150ms atm... Which is considered as "high" for online gaming. Sure it's still playable, but gaming experience is really better at about 60ms or less.

** Note Chaos is in Montreal atm **

It would be great but... I don't want to change server, I have friends on Sargatanas so I wouldn't change, nor start a new character just to try reduced latency... the game works fine for me anyway.

Wouldnt want to change servers either, or get chased off for being a EU on a NA server...

But relatively speaking, our connection from the EU to the NA data center isn't as bad as the connection from certain parts of north america to their down Data center >.> We (or i) get 100 ms of delay at most even at peak times. Lag has never been an issue. europe has a great intercontinental line through the ocean and excellent data traffic overal.

I wouldn't wanna change server now personally, buuuut I do suffer from latency sometimes. Killer on Titan. So yeah I do agree it'd be a nice idea.

Do you struggle with content at all? Like, really struggle? Do you get noticeable lag? I have better ping in the UK than most of my American friends close to the server. I ask this of most people who ask for an EU server because the majority ask for the sake of it, not because we really need it.

1 year has passed now, I doubt they will migrate the servers to EU @_@

Why not ask for something that is meh, bearable to be great and almost perfect?

I'm from europe and i've never really experienced latency issues
