What is this madness in Mor Dhona?!

There I was, searching for PF groups for Levi and Ramuh EX, then I saw a player. They had the Recruit a Friend Chocobo mount that fits two people, after being amazed and jealous at this, they rode around a little up towards the Summoning Bells area.

Then I saw something so amazing it defied comprehension. A Carbuncle, Emerald, sitting on top of this wagon, no ACN attached to it. It was just a Carbuncle, free and adorable as always. It watched me as I examined it atop the cart, then before I thought to take a picture to prove I wasn't insane, it disappeared.

What was this?! I must know! My love for Carbuncle transcends time and space!

It's part of a roaming NPC that's looking for it. Sadly, you can't interact with either of them, though looking at her trying to find her Carbuncle is really fun.

That was Ruby! A rogue sentient carbuncle that is curious! Spawns random places in Revenant. If you look closer there is a miqo acn npc walking around looking for her!

He also sometimes spawns on the little shed by the Chocobo Porter. :3

Edit: Oh, and I think I once saw him hiding in one of the merchant stalls in front of Rowena's House of Wonders.

They should add Uriagnier's carbuncle roaming around in Waking Sands. It's a different type of carbuncle from the ones we can summon, I think it's peridot? A lot more yellow than the topaz carbuncle. Super adorable. ^^
