Is there a benefit to playing PARLEY?

Hello,

I played Parley today for the first time. It is very easy to win and gets boring after a short time. I was unable to see any reward or benefit for wins. Does anyone know if there is a goal or a progression associated with the game? I see in the lower section that there are button options involved with the gameplay but they are unusable to me at this time. I did some Google searching for any info as and have found nothing.

Parley served a minor gameplay function in version 1.0 in that it was designed to be another way for Disciples of the Hand and Land to undertake story quests (read, boss battle fights), without actually having to fight (hence why it's called 'Parley' in the first place - it's technically analogous to having a discussion with another person, and in the context of the game, it was an attempt by the player to convince the enemy to give up without fighting). Naturally though, this didn't work well and thus was abandoned as an actual gameplay mechanic in ARR (hence why you can't start ARR as a Disciple of the Hand or Land anymore unlike in 1.0).

So yeah, now it's pretty much just a time waster, a little diversion for if you're bored and have nothing better to do.

Yeah, if I have nothing to do, I will get off the game not sit in my lonely room and play a game with no challenge and no reward. My God, bring back Triple Triad then.

But, has it been proven that you can obtain this item through playing Parley? I've won dozens of matches, with no effect. No achievement (as one doesn't exist), and no item rewards.

I spent 2 hours until I won with full bar (like truly flawless victory) yesterday to test if something happen. The only thing that changed was game desk had Hildibrand face on it instead of ARR logo. Did couple more games and went to sleep. As I was very sleepy and slightly drunk at that time maybe I just missed something but nothing really popped up for me.
