Yes, they can.
Yes, they can.
I take my word back. I Just got a mastercraft demi from artisian specs (i70 crafting gear)
so, I can now confirm that i70+ can yield either demimat 3 or mastercraft demi.
it's still uncertain that DoW and DoM gear also give mastercraft demi through desynthesis tho.
Once you reach the point where ilvl 55 items aren't worth it anymore, it gets very expensive... your leveling options are:
• ilvl 70 crafted items or dungeon drops (up to around 85 Desynth skill, then it gets too slow)
• ilvl 80 dungeon drops (nice success rate / skillup ratio)
• 3-4 meld ilvl 90 crafted items (don't bother before 85 Desynth skill, the success rate will be too low)
For Mastercraft Demimateria, so far I've only obtained them from crafting/gathering ilvl 70 gear. I've Desynthed about 40 Artisan's Spectacles so far. Obtained 5 Mastercraft Demimateria, some Rose Gold Nuggets and some Rose Gold Ingots. The Rose Gold Ingots can be re-crafted into Rose Gold Clasps, which are ilvl 70 desyth and have a chance for a Fieldcraft III Demimateria (3 so far), or materials such as Rose Gold Ingot again (repeat!), or Rose Gold/Darksteel Nuggets
I've never obtained Fieldcraft III or Clear III Demimateria from Artisan's Spectacles directly.

I hope this makes it clearer for SE how blatantly imbalanced the desynth system is. It's totally biased toward goldsmith (which already has the advantage of being easy to level) and really craps on high-material-count crafts like ARM, CUL, WVR, and LTW. This would be fine if it wasn't such a huge component in progressing as a craftsman.
Even players who have every craft at 50 probably have one or two that they like more or have better geared (unless they're max-melded on everything, in which case good job!) If we all want to be efficient, we're forced to all lump into Goldsmith like soulless drones with no individuality. Oh, thank goodness we can level two others to 100! Too bad they're ridiculously expensive! Many of us won't bother passing 60!
I like that we can desynth our useless crap now. I really do. I just hope this particular version of the system isn't required for upcoming ilvl boosts in future patches.
That's.... an interesting necro. I assume you're quoting a post where I was speculating about how to get FCIIIs or something? It turns out that CRP and BSM are actually the two best at getting FCIIIs right now, using Straight Stepping Stumps and Summoning Bells, due to the tanking of the myth mat market. GSM is definitely the best for Mastercraft, though ARM isn't too terrible (BSM too if you're patient). GSM, WVR, LTW, and ARM are all good for BCIIIs (dungeon dive for i70+ gear, don't craft for those).
The classes are way more balanced than they seemed at first. And, all but two classes (LTW and CUL) can get Mastercraft Demis. Though, CRP doesn't really count, given what they have to do for Mastercrafts (desynth Forager's Fishing Rods)...

I think any classes being unable to generate the materia necessary to obtain their new tool is pretty goofy and bad game design. That said, I skilled up LTW before I knew about this and don't really have any desire to up my desynth skill on another job so maybe my opinion is colored by bitterness.
I also leveled LTW desynth. Stopped when I saw what the current situation is. Then picked it back up when I realized that the Ixal gloves reward would be a LTW item. Then just found a few hours ago that it is currently not desynthable.
Seriously? Why make Artisan Specs desynthable and Ixal Gloves not? Why purposefully shaft LTW?
The barrier of entry to obtaining the Ixal Gloves is almost laughable. All you need to do is log in and do dailies to obtain them. Once capped at Rank 7 u can obtain 6 Oaknots per day in less than 10min which makes it so easy to obtain these gloves its almost a joke. If LTW could desynth these gloves it would be unballanced so i understand why they didnt allow for it. You cant compare this to the Cost/Difficulty/Time Sink of crafting and breaking valuable i70-i90 items in hopes for a "Chance" at obtaining F3s and Masters.
LTW does definately have the short end of the stick (CUL including) but just try to keep in mind that there WILL eventually be more i70 Crafting gear released (Artisan Branded) which will undoubtedly be LTW or WVR based and will surely drop 1-3x Master Demis.
Until then, Desynthesis is a "Builder of the Realm" world and if you didnt have the foresight to level up more suitable desynth classes then your SOL unfortunately.
I myself started with CUL/CRP and got them to d60 only having to start over with BSM/ALCH/GSM which are now capped. Your not alone. Put in the Work like we all did, or wait until the skill cap is increased to 400 and new i70 Artisan gear is released. Its your choice.
TLDR: There is a reason the Ixal gloves are missing the "Artisan" title. They are not BiS.
