Nothing else but this. Getting tired of community rep saying vague stuffs and the devs dodging around this subject.
Still no clear answer as to FC-GC AffiliationGreetings,
As this seems to be a thread discussing information on Frontline, I wanted to stop in and just supplement that knowledge with a couple of things.
- Chat channels
While participating in Frontline, certain chat channels will be restricted.
- Tell/LS/FC chat channels
It will not be possible to use these chat channels as we would like to prevent players that are in different Grand Company groups from leaking information such as player position, job setup, etc.- Say/Yell/Shout chat channels
These chat channels will be available for use while in Frontline; however, only your group will be able to see it.- Queuing
As long as you are part of the same Grand Company, you’ll be able to queue up with others.![]()
If what I interpret is correct, FC Affiliation means nothing in frontline. Which means only our individual GC affiliation matters.
Solo queue it is.
So I can't do Frontline with some of my friends because we aren't in the same GC? And they expect us to change GC after all the time we spent getting our PvP rank? I.. just.. don't.. even..

This kind of badly thought desing desicions is dangerously becoming to frequent and may become an issue if no corrections are made.
Players already have to deal with INSANE ammounts of grind through the PvP ranks and PvP gear which makes the grind even longer because no one wants to do PvP precisely for that. Now, you are forcing people to choose content and even making groups of players having to lose their progress in PvP ranks, which could be easily at least 4.000 battles because of this Frontlines GC system.
Changing from GC to GC should not affect PvP rank, is that simple.
Not to mention prices of Wolf Mark gears should be drastically reduced to incentive people to get into both, the frontlines and PvP.
You know what's even better than spending 130 hours grinding win trades to Rank 40 in PvP? Doing it 2-3 times so you can do Frontlines with your friends. Because I have a month to spare to grind that out.
Lack of awareness from dev team is very troubling. Do they believe we all have OCD? Are we meant to die in net cafes grinding out pointless nonsense? Or is it a trick, and we're supposed to ignore the troll content entirely instead of grinding it out?
Reminds me of when FFXI team wouldn't change Fafnir/Nidhogg for years and years to a pop NM because "Hey guys, fighting a dragon at the top of a giant tree is SO EPIC, you should thank us for this epic opportunity!" when in reality you could kill it with less than a full PT (so epic...), just had to camp it religiously as if you had no life, then worry about getting mpk'd on top of trying to claim over botters... all the while watching the most vile text fly by in say/shout. Amazing.
Even better is when you try to grind out to 40 legitimately... and will have to forsake all that for Frontlining with your friends.
130 hours of win-trading is nothing, try 500 hours of legit queues & gambling wins/losses.

When will SE learn that the more restrictions they put into systems to make sure players dont play "cheap" just end up in players doing exactly the opposite as they plan?
Look at PvP fixed matched being the far mayority of matches played and tell me how the whole chat restrictions went. Chat restrictions in this day and age have no place in a decent MMORPG... Can someone at SE please step it up and realize we are in the year 2014.
Time to allow for FC GC Affiliation queueing... Locking us out from our playing alongside each other is getting really old.
