Leviathan FC Progression Thread V4

Hello, everyone. As Sevyn has retired the role of updating the old thread, I've spoken with many top guild leaders about the decision and we've come to the democratic conclusion to return to an FC ONLY thread as it was in the first two versions.
This way, we will maintain the spirit of the original thread for this server and the work put into a Free Company, as was the intention of the thread.

Those who have Linkshell clears are welcome to create a separate thread for it. Your progression on the World Progression Thread will still be counted as equal value to Free Companies. Note that if there's enough public demand, I may add Linkshells as a separate category under the FC clears. However, as I've been told, Sevyn unintentionally credited and recorded linkshells.

Anybody that I may have missed from the previous thread will have to repost here and I'll update accordingly, and hopefully, in a much more time sensitive manner. Also, keep me updated on the status of your guild's recruitment / website URLs.

If your clear is not credited to only Free Company members and you use pugs, we will likely put a mark indicating that it wasn't a full FC clear.

Please keep this thread clear of everything except for updates on kills and recruitment status. Please include a screenshot with UI ON to verify members as well as kill time. Refer to World Progression Thread on qualifications to make it on there.

Posting for public demand of Linkshell tracking.
Having this only track FC's really shows a lack of spirit of competition for me. Is our kill any less worthwhile than yours just because we aren't all under a FC tag? While we may be from different Fc's, we ALL put in the effort for the kill and having this pop up is semi insulting.
Both Asylum and 7M1H killed the dragon just like you guys, we deserve our spot up on the special snowflake list too.

I will gladly front 15k to you if it means we're considered "a real raid team" by these standards.

Incorrect. I did not make this decision myself, and as I said, I'm sticking to original tradition. Most server threads have FC only and Sevyn intended it to be that way as well (though he couldn't monitor it as much as time went on.)

I had no individual bias in the decision making and let those I've talked to help me come to a decision to keep it the way it was before.

There's a pretty large amount of outside effort ignored when a Linkshell clears over a Free Company, including pre-raid gathering / crafting of consumables as well as having more to give up.

Most noteably, anyone can gather the top 2 of 4 different guilds and clear. Does that discredit the clear? Absolutely not, it still shows incredibly strong play. However, you don't give anything up by committing to a Linkshell like you do to a Free Company, as you can be in 8 of them.

Linkshells in this game are glorified chat rooms, so I can understand the decision others have reached. You wouldn't see custom chat channels in WoW being placed on a Guild Progression Thread.

You're taking that out of context. I've stated that it was equal value in the World Progression Thread.

As long as your LS is confirmed a static, there should be no reason why it's left out. You have to confirm if everyone is in your FC anyways. Many "top" free companies I have talked to, have agreed that this is insane. The only difference between a LS and a FC is 15k founding fee.

I would love to know who you talked to. I brought the GM of Advent Union in my VOIP to discuss this and he was absolutely outraged that Linkshells were deserving of the same credit as Free Companies. To be honest I was willing to leave existing Linkshells on the list, but he brought up good points.

That GM is just personally upset that a linkshell and former AU member (me) beat his second group, and I have read this and heard this personally.

The entire point of the progression threads on levi has always been for FC notoriety purposes to enhance recruitment and commitment to being a part of FCs.

Linkshells gain nothing from progression recognition outside of saying they've done it, which they can still get from the world progression thread, but FCs actually gain benefits that come in the form of members, which turn into seals/gil/housing/etc.

Every single official progression thread on levi, and many other servers, has only included FCs - except for the V3 thread which was an unintentional mistake and against the rules of the previous threads. The first two did not allow LS credit and the 3rd only did as of recently (as an oversight) just before the thread ended.

No one is saying LS's haven't downed the content, obviously they have, and you can still get recognition from the World Progression thread, but that is not the purpose of the Levi threads.

Just by clicking random links on the Server list, it would seem that FC-specific progression is the "norm", which I'm trying to adhere by. Again, I'm not discrediting Linkshell clears, but you give nothing up by doing it as a Linkshell. If people aren't willing to take their static and create a Free Company out of it, doesn't the clear advantages speak for itself?
