PvP Tournaments . . . ever?

Wouldn't it be awesome if PvP had some relevance by having tournaments with static 4-person teams?

Like, bi-weekly tournaments on Friday nights wherein there is an entry fee paid to get in, and its like a Double-E bracket with 32 or 64 teams, 3rd and 4th get their gil doubled, 2nd gets it quadrupled, and 1st gets some unique bonus item? Like a glamor or something actually useful, like an i100 weapon or, even better:

not enough players for that. the playerbase is already so off-kilter you'd just end up with like 10 people in the whole game who would even have the gear to do tournaments to begin with and no one would even get a fair chance. and an entry fee? you mean paying again for what SE should already be doing with the PvP content they already have like other games already do? pfft. I already think i'm paying too with with jus the monthly fee considering the content i want to play is so broken i can't even play it. na no thanks. i'll play other games that already do that and they're free.

I guess monthly tournament for 4man team will be great, especially if it's powered by SE with good reward !
Or dev a special world server for contest series with cashprises or gift.

I tried to set up something like this on my server but since it didnt start or end with trade not more than a few people were interested. I volunteered to supply prizes for the top 4 and was going to implement a gear restriction, to have everyone on even ground.
