[dev1034] Grand Company Currency

Here are some ideas on how to bring rewards and lore to Eorzea though the Grand Companies. First would be a currency obtained though Grand Company related Content such as Missions, Quests, Grand Company related Instances, and maybe even somewhat a FFXI Conquest type system where you earn Currency based off a certain percentage of the total Exp you receive from an enemy but maybe that could be used in something different though I feel to a certain degree the more in different ways you can reward players for the most basic things like EXP parties, behest and Crafting the better, it just gives these things a feel of more sense of accomplishment when doing them. Anyways obtaining and using this Currency to buy Equipment and Items that are inspired by the design (in looks) and statistical properties of the Grand Companies (unique to each single Grand Company) is very important to help the Grand Companies add Lore and style to Eorzea, the Equipment that come from FFXI's Conquest and Campaign is an good example but needs to be more diverse in the looks department to set each single Grand Company apart even further such as Artifact Equipment did for each Job in FFXI. A way to obtain these currencies could be as simple as FFXI's solution which was to get a Status Effect i.e. Signet, Sanction or Sigil, I was thinking if that was the route to take maybe it could be call "Allegiance" (Name Tentative haha) obtained by an Grand Company NPCs or in the cases of missions and quests in some instances it is automatically put on you. Well that is some of my ideas i'll ponder on more later and maybe post them.

Grand Company Seals

Completing a mission will earn you an amount in Grand Company Seals commensurate with the difficulty of your assigned task. Each organization issues its own unique type of seal (see below), which serves as a currency of sorts and can be used to redeem myriad useful items.

The Maelstrom: Storm Seals
The Order of the Twin Adder: Serpent Seals
The Immortal Flames: Flame Seals

* Grand Company Seals are honored only by the organization of issuance.

Adventurers may check the amount of seals in their possession by selecting Attributes in the main menu, and then clicking the Grand Companies tab.

I"m thinking they will introduce new NMs with the currencies similar to the faction levee NMs.

Most likely, these seals will be spent in the same way guild marks are spent.

I'm thinkin' points for items. I'd be interested to see how they rewards differ from one to the other. We'll see in 2 days I suppose.

hm, I haven't noticed any topics on this but since this is about company currency has anyone noticed if there are repeatable quest for obtaining company currency. I'm thinking that perhaps the "Imperial Devices" and whatever the rank 45 quest are might be repeatable but I was surprised to find that upon completing the rank 25 quest for grida there was no option to take on more quest. With some items costing more then what I currently have I'm curious as to if there's actually a way to obtain more currency or will we have to wait for the next VU for the chance at obtaining more currency.

though i haven't completed the raids yet i believe that is a repeatable quest to get seals, those might be the only ones atm , not sure about that.

No. At curent time quests for companies can't be reapeted. You can get only 5750 seals for each company.

Important Note:

If you read the text from Grand Company officials, they make mention of tasks for us to complete that award seals based on the difficulty of the task. These also hint towards a repeatable means of acquiring seals. I'd advise players to refrain from "this is BS we only get 5750 seals max per nation until 1.19!!!" and wait at least a week to see if these "tasks" reset similar to leves and how fatigue used to reset.
