Leviathan Lyrics Speculation

After finishing my animus I've been bored so I decided to try deciphering what they say in the Leviathan music since I can't find the lyrics anywhere.

Hoping some people here may have better ears than I because this is as far as I can get.

Wow, that's really helpful. Can't believe I didn't see that when I used the search function.

Some things that bother me about yours:
The 'Leviathan! Leviathan! (Help us!)' above 'hold us' sounds like a very prominent 'rages'. (Some other of your 'help us's bother me)
In the first 'Without a surface they can't live', the 'they can't live' just doesn't fit no matter how much you shorten it.
Your second 'My blood is red! Without a surface they can't live' just doesn't seem to match up at all.
While your 'stormy seas' and 'smashing against our hull' sounds cooler and make more sense, I feel that mine matches better.

Other than that yours seems really close. Also: is that a quote that's allowing you to bypass the character limit?

Editing your post allows you to bypass characters limits. It's incredibly handy when it comes to posting things like lyrics, or when you are replying to multiple posts and have a bunch of quotes. And don't worry about the criticism, when it comes to figuring out this stuff any interpretations are better than no other interpretations =)

That aside:
-I agree that not all of my "Help Us" are accurate, but that's what my ears were hearing at the time and they seemed to fit better than a bunch of "???" after every chant. However, I'm almost 100% certain that they're chanting "Bless Us" and not "Grace Us." Your use of "Tend Us" certainly sounds more accurate at certain parts, so you're probably more correct than I am, if not completely correct.

-The "Without a surface they can't live" is incorrect, but frankly I can't come up with anything better right now. To my ears, it sounds like "Without asurahs/asimple theycanlee", so you can see how I got to that, haha!

-All of the shouts after the chorus I'm pretty sure of; "Raging", "Forsaken", "My blood red", etc. It's all of the lines following those that I'm most unsure of and will most likely change frequently.

-The last verse I'm confident is accurate, barring the first line. My ears hear "Swarmy", and in the song the way they warp the lead singer's voice during the last verse gives a lot of words a "Wuh" sound, so I adjust them at my discretion and see what makes the most sense. Another word I'm flip-flopping over is "Hull" in the second line. It's either "Hull" or "Wall", and either works. Given the obvious nautical theme of the song I went with "Hull" this time.

Yeah, its definitely "bless us." I'm still somewhat unsure on a lot of my text after the chants. Much like yourself, I figure close is better than ???

My biggest issue with my post-chant text is despite a good bit of it sounding accurate at parts...It makes no sense. But I guess if I think of them as fanatical worshipers it may make a little sense. *coughs* I'm looking at you "Blends us!"

I definitely hear the "Without a surface" in the first one. It's the word/words that comes after the confuses me.

About your shouts, yeah I agree with most of them. The second "My blood red" is the only one I don't agree with. On a side note: I can't believe you realized the "Mi" of "Mistaken" with how thick that JP pronunciation is. Same thing can be said of the "To swallow." He like completely omits the "low."

Your first two lines in the last verse will probably forever bother me. I agree on the other two though.
For the first line I hear either:
- Swell, seize the world
- Swell, seas of all
Like I've mentioned before though, they make little sense. I refuse to budge on "Swell" though.
On the second line I hear:
- Surge, tidal wall (Sahj, ti tal wall)
My reasoning on this one being I'm pretty sure tidal wall is the name of the skill he uses that hits your group for about 1k. I could be wrong though. I don't pay much attention to skill names.

Probably going to change mine to include some of your stuff later tonight.

Maybe I'm projecting my own opinion a bit too much onto the song, but the way I see it is that it's the Sahagin singing to Leviathan. So when I listen to the lyrics I try and find words that both fit with what the lyrics sound like, as well as fit with my idea of the song's premise. It's helped quite a bit, but I realize that it can also make me imagine certain words where there aren't any, as well as reject certain words because I don't think they fit. That said, all of the other songs with vocals have a similar style: telling a story about the boss. But that's just my method to how I discerned certain words like "Mistaken!" and "To swallow up the world!" =P

-I'm starting to agree that "My blood red!" isn't correct, as listening to the line immediately after, I'm now hearing an "st" sound at the end. So perhaps I should correct "My blood flows!" to "My bloodlust!" But I'll need to listen a bit more. Plus, would Leviathan, an aetherial being, even have blood?

-I also think I was wrong about "Or else I'm dead." If the song is sung from the Sahagin's perspective, it'd be odd to immediately change it to the adventurers' for a line there. Instead, I'm hearing "Whorls under." I'd heard that "er" sound for a while, but just attributed it to the singer's accent. This makes a bit more sense thematically.

-Listening to the last verse again, yeah, you're much closer than I was with those first two lines. I'm now hearing:

Swell, seize their hope.
Surging, against them all.

Although that second line still bothers me. I'm hearing "Canst ehr ole", so there's a lot of phrases I can make that sound similar.

This is really quite enjoyable. Having someone to argue with really helps a lot.

Updated the main post. It's starting to shape up quite nicely.

- I've taken a similar approach with breaking down the vocals into groups. The chants are the sahagin, the grungy, hard to understand voice is Leviathan, and the rest is just a narrative how awesome Leviathan is.
Assigning the grungy voice to Leviathan is causing me issues with the "She rams your hulls" bit. But now that I've heard it, I cannot unhear it. I feel like figuring out the first line will add a lot of insight to the rest.

- I've revised the two lines you felt skeptical about and some others in my edit("My blood red!" and "Or else I'm dead.") Feedback would be appreciated.

- I know I sound like a broken record, but I just can't hear anything other than "Tidal wall" for the second line of the last verse. Most likely just a personal bias. I can mostly agree with the "Seize their hope," though in my case its now "Seize their boat."

I know, right? It's so nice to bounce ideas back and forth, haha! I've also updated my lyrics as well; things do seem to be shaping up.

-Funnily enough, I'm not hearing "She rams your hulls" anymore. The "rams" has always had a "d" sound at the start to me, so in my first attempt at the lyrics I wrote it as "She drowns your halls." But that didn't last, and this one still doesn't seem to fit...hmm... This part of the lyrics has always been tricky, and it doesn't seem to be getting easier.

-I've changed the line "My blood red" to your "My current." I keep hearing a "b" sound rather than a hard "c", but much like the last verse of this song, the lead singer's voice is distorted. Plus, it makes more sense with the following line, so I think we've got that one. However, I disagree with "Whorl asunder" in favor of my "Whorls under", as yours is five syllables, and I can only hear four. That said, what with the voice distortion and accent, he could be singing "Whorl" as one syllable rather than two.

-Haha, I can't tell you to hear something that you aren't, so no worries there. Our interpretations sound pretty similar compared to the singer's accent and what-not, so it's a good estimate nonetheless.

I'll probably make a few more minor changes to mine tonight, hopefully I'll figure out a few of those ??? sections.

EDIT: Y'know, maybe it's "Whorls sunder."? It's basically a combination of what we're saying, and it matches the syllable count.

Man, I'm back to hearing "Mistaken! Or else I'm dead" again. As far as "Whorls sunder" goes, I prefer "Whorl sunder" or "Whorls under." It bothers me that none of these have connection to anything else though. Thus, I assume it might be linked to the previous line. Definitely gunna put some time into figuring that out.

The way I was hearing "Whorl asunder" was through (worl - a - sun - dah.) But now, I'm back to "Or else I'm dead."

I think I'm just going to ignore the previously mentioned lines though until I have a vague idea of the first line of their verses.

Edit: Also for your "Without a surface they can't live." At one point in time I thought I heard "Without a surface vacant." I dropped it because it made no sense, but maybe it will help you.
